Shrinking via Atomic-Belt: As Quark, Ramon possesses the power to reduce himself to the size of an atom by means of the subatomic particles known as the Pymler Particles. The nature, source, and mechanics of the Pymler Particles center around the energy taken from a blue dwarf star. When Ramon inhales a gas through his helmet containing the Pymler Particles, the Particles would interact with the electrical impulses of his brain, creating an organism-wide "reducing field." Thus activated, the field reduces his entire body at a uniform rate to the smaller size he desires. Although he usually chooses to reduce himself to one half inch in height, he can reduce his size to any size between an atom and his normal size. Usually, Ramon does not compress his mass into his smaller size. Instead, his mass is somehow extended into an extra-physical dimension that is opened by the activating of the Pymler Particles, from which the mass could later be reclaimed. Strangely, because Raymon's mass was extended extra-dimensionally when he was at atomic-size, he retains his full human-size strength at that size. To return to normal size, Ramon inhales more gas which contains another type of Pymler Particles. These particles interact with his brain to create an organism-wide "enlarging field, " which is energized by mental command. Thus, Ramon can grow back to his normal height and reclaim all of the mass that was extended extra-dimensionally.

_____Microscopic Stability: For some reason, Raymon's physiology allows him to not explode when he is miniaturized unlike other living things which explode after a short time of being miniaturized.

Acrobatics: Lightstreak has stated that he's not as nearly as agile as Quark. Ramon is an Olympic-level gymnast.

Fighting: Athlete: Ramon is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant using special styles of unarmed combat depending on his size. If he is small, he takes advantage of the opponent's larger form by assaulting points of his/her body that they would not expect and move to another before they detected him. Has had some training in karate and wrestling. He was also trained by Sentinel in unarmed combat making him a very formidable fighter.

_____Martial Arts: Ramon has received training in judo before becoming Quark. He used a judo move to overpower an ant which was larger and stronger than himself.

__________Judo: Ramon often finds himself in situations where physical violence becomes necessary. As such, he has developed a proficiency in the martial art judo.

_____Swordsmanship: Quark used a long sword as a weapon while living among the ants, gaining considerable skill in its use against creatures with mandibles and six legs.

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius: Dr. Ramon Pymler is one of the world's foremost biochemists and also possesses considerable expertise in numerous scientific fields such as subatomic physics, robotics, cybernetics, artificial intelligence, programming, emergency medicine, optics and entomology. He has also referred himself one of the five smartest people on the planet which makes him capable of rivaling others such as Mr. Excelsior and is regarded by The Designer as Eden's "Supreme Scientist". During his career, he created the robot Bolt, explored and repaired Angãraka often, and created much of The T.I.T.A.N.S. equipment.

_____Physics: Dr. Ramon Pymler has a Ph.D. in physics and is a full professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

Pilot: Capable pilot of aircraft ranging from conventional helicopters to high tech vehicles.

Scuba Diver: Trained as a scuba diver.

Paraphernalia

Quark's Suit:

Atomic-Belt: Originally, Ramon's size/weight controls were located in his belt buckle. However, he quickly moved them to his gloves for greater accessibility and swifter transitions.

_____Dimensional Travel: Ramon found out that by shrinking beyond the subatomic scale he could slip beneath reality at the quantum level to traverse around the multiverse at will.

_____Mass Alteration: Able to instantly alter his molecular density to whatever degree he desires. Ramon can also assume any weight at any height—up to his full 180 pounds.

_____Size Alteration: Able to shrink his body to varying degrees (including the subatomic level), achieved by storing most of his mass in a pocket dimension. As Quark, Ramon can assume any size from his normal six-foot stature down to sub-microscopic, although he generally deems a height of six inches as most functional.

_____Speed: Flight: Gliding-Warp Speed: He is able to glide on air currents and stiff breezes. A favorite travel method Ramon had, was to call some location on the telephone; when the intended phone answered, he could shrink down enough to literally travel through the phone lines in seconds to emerge out of the answering phone.

_____Strength: Peak Human: By shifting all his mass into his fists he can punch with incredible force.

Cybernetic Helmet: As Quark, Ramon wears a "cybernetic helmet" which permits him to achieve rudimentary telepathic communication with ants and other higher insects and to control their minds. Also, Ramon requires gas capsules or potions to shrink, grow, or return to normal size.

Weaknesses

Mental Difficulties: Ramon Pymler suffered a series of mental breakdowns over the years which caused his wife to divorce him. He was eventually identified as suffering from a bipolar disorder.

Personality Traits

Ramon Pymler is a hard-working, dedicated man. In fact, "dedicated" is hardly the word for it; "driven" is a little closer to the truth. Once Ramon starts working on a problem or puzzle, there is absolutely no stopping him. This single-minded pursuit of his goals is more than a little responsible for Ramon's shattered marriage, though it has occasionally come in handy to Ramon the crime fighter. In spite of his obsessiveness, Ramon is a level-headed hero and a likable human being.

Trivia

(Physical Features/Speaking Voice/Likely Vocabulary/Characteristics/Mannerisms)

Attachments: As Quark, Ramon Pymler has a deep emotional connection to some of his ants. When Korey, a winged ant, sacrificed its life to save Ramon, he was deeply disturbed by its death.

Avoidance: In order to avoid contemplating his divorce, Ramon Pymler worked obsessively at his laboratory. He took little nourishment or sleep while working. This suggests that his health problems could be partly caused by malnutrition and sleep deprivation.

Beliefs: Ramon explicitly stated that he is an atheist.

Cool New Threads: Ramon used "fluctuating nanites.", developed by Mr. Excelsior, when he developed his latest Quark's Suit.

Hand-Me-Downs: After creating his new suit using "fluctuating nanites.", Ramon gave his original suit (with the glove-controls upgrade) to his professional colleague and friend, Choe Seukos.

Landline Limited: Ramon cannot travel through cell phone connections without paying a great physical toll. In his first attempt he was transduced into microwaves and bounced off a satellite; and when he reached his destination he was comatose and only three feet tall. The second time he travelled as microwaves in a cell phone network he was not able to stand for a few moments.

No Thanks: Ramon Pymler was criticized by other scientists, who viewed his theoretical work as ridiculous. One of them suggested to Ramon that he "should stick to practical projects". Ramon responded that he only wanted to work on projects that appealed to his own imagination. He was not interested in practical applications for his projects.

Peer Review: Both Wakĥáŋ Tĥáŋka Iktomi and Maká Nagi acknowledge Ramon as a warrior.

Recognition: Ramon is recognized as a Caltech fellow in the school of extra dimensional studies.

Voice: If the Amalgam Universe 2.0 were to become a cartoon, the voice of Quark should be Ed Quinn.
