The planet, Attikrypt, implodes, sending a shockwave of energy through its system, killing a Predecessor as well as turning all other moons and planets in the system into lifeless rock. A large domed city, the only city to survive the cataclysm, rockets through space intact. The inhabitants are asleep in cryogenic pods and will not awaken until their city settles on a new planet

4.6 Million BCE

Predecessor Kem-Ell Dav-Ris finds a habitable planet within the gravitational pull of a yellow star. Landing on the planet, he found that the world already had an indigenous race of beings, but their technology was limited to stones, metal and sticks. As he traveled across the globe the nearby sun's light and radiation began to affect his organic cells. Soon his cellular alteration reached a point where it caused a malfunction in the cybernetic systems resulting in the host body to retake control.

In addition to regaining control, Kem-Ell found his body had been augmented and enhanced on a cellular level by the radiation of the yellow star. He immediately tried to contact his homeworld, only to have the memory of its destruction unlocked and replay in his mind. The loss of everything: family, home, his entire race, his purpose drove him mad and he reverted to his prime directive, to terraform and prepare. Using his new powers and his cybernetic instructions, Predecessor, as he now referred to himself, casting off his birth-name, began the process of preparing this planet for the coming of his people, whom he refused to believe were all gone.

Due to his limited understanding of the planet itself, as well as his new powers, Predecessor pushed too hard and literally broke the planet, causing the core to go into a cascading meltdown that ruptured the planet. Predecessor was caught in liquid magma that was shot into space as the planet exploded, and before he could escape, the magma cooled. Having seeped into his cybernetics and orifices, the magma had solidified inside, trapping him in solid rock, unable to move despite his vast strength, due to the damaged cybernetics causing misfires in his nervous system.

It would be years before he finally gave up and mentally shut down his cybernetics, hoping it would kill him. It did not, but instead, due to his enhanced cells, he entered into a catatonic state, barely kept alive by the rays of the yellow star, as his body, embedded in rock, floated among the rest of the destroyed planet, in a vast ring of asteroids in orbit around the star, which he had designated: Sol

According to legend, worried that Arthur would fall in battle, Merlyn took the King to a magical lake where a mysterious hand thrust itself up from the water, holding aloft a magnificent sword. After returning from war with the Saxons and Romans, Arthur was faced with civil war. People were upset he was king and began challenging him for his rule. All of these rebellions were quelled and Arthur rose victorious

In the war against the Romans, Arthur defeated the Emperor Lucius and became Emperor himself. This lead to a prosperous time for the middle aged ruler and conqueror

Lancelot and King Arthur's queen Guinevere were having an affair behind the king's back. Arthur's knights were aware of this but, hesitant to inform him of the news. When King Arthur finally heard he was enraged and sought to capture and burn Guinevere. Lancelot rescued her and began a war with the king. Neither died during the 2 month war and eventually the Pope intervened and put an end to it. Arthur was forced to take back his wife and set Lancelot free

When the dispute between Lancelot and Arthur was resolved there was still tensions about the many deaths that had taken place. King Arthur had to go out of his kingdom to quell rebellions. During his time away he left his nephew Morderd in charge. Mordred betrayed his king and took control of the kingdom and forced Arthur's queen to flee

Arthur had been fatally wounded by Mordred and no amount of time could lead to his recovery. In the end he went with Bedivere to the lake where he first acquired Excalibur from the Lady in the Lake. He ordered Bedivere to throw Excalibur into the lake. Bedivere tried to trick his king and not throw Excalibur but Arthur was not fooled. Eventually Bedivere threw the sword. After Bedivere threw Excalibur into the lake; Morgan le Fay arrived with three other women, to take him to Avallon and to heal him, according to legend

As Dr. Balestruccio carried out the first part of his orders he was interrupted by Dr. Giovanni Striscione who tackled him, launching them both into the test chamber where the mini-Hadron Collider was stored and primed with their recent data, for a demonstration for the Pope in the morning.

The two men scuffled, knocking into computers and machinery, accidentally activating the Collider. As the hum of the machine grew louder, the enormity of what they had activated broke through the men's hate for each other, and together they raced for the slowly closing lab doors. But they were too late. The shielded doors shut and locked, the men trapped inside, as the energy within the Collider built to a crescendo. Just as the machine reached effigy, Giovanni saw that the Collider tubes had been knocked out of alignment, and with a sense of impending doom, Giovanni knew that they were about to die.

The energy escalated and exploded, filling the sealed chamber with nuclear energy as well as the same energy that had swept across the globe in The Great Burn. They had been successful in replicating the energy that could give the new Repubblica Italiana the power to create super-soldiers, but the two scientists would die in the explosion that destroyed all the data and equipment that contained that information.

At least, that is what was supposed to happen. Instead, because of the men's proximity to each other, the two were fused into a single being of pure radiation. In the now enhanced body of Dr. Giovanni Striscione, with the mental voice of Dr. Balestruccio constantly in the background, Fusion Burn would become an "unofficial" enforcer for the Papal Office

As Wade lay in a pool, holding his dead ex-partner (and ex-lover) in his arms, believing he was dying, the walls shook as the charges the rescue team had placed, exploded

Overhead lights sparked and fell away from the crumbling ceiling, landing in the pool of chemicals in which Wade sat. Suddenly and painfully, Wade was electrocuted for several seconds until the base's power grid died
