The Official Timeline of Events within The Ætherium Saga

Before Time

יהווה comes into existence. They will henceforth be known as That-Which-Abides. This occurs on a different metaphysical plane, distinct from the ordinary physical universe, and thus able to precede it.

Beginning of Time

The true age of Merlyn Emrys, also known as "The Architect", is unknown.
He claims to be 194,919,501,975,197,919,762,020,197,519,691,979,198,120,181,969,199,319,952,005,200,720,071,992,200,920,052,003 years old, but in another instance he has stated that he counts each second and adds them together, since he travels time too often.
He has also stated that counting the seconds he is alive, no matter where in Time, has allowed him to keep track of his life.

As Time has begun, so do the differing paths available to the future.
Thus is Destiny intertwined with Time.

Creation of the Universe

100 Aeons Ago

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 100 Billion Years BCE

0 UB (Universal Beginning)

That-Which-Abides reaches into void, pulls out nothingness, casts it into emptiness while commanding the universe into existence.
    • It is from their command which springs forth an explosion of incalculable energies that herald the Dawn of Creation.
    • The vibrations of that divine voice still resonate across space-time.
      • These vibrations exist beyond human auditory range, drowned out not by silence, but by divine resonance.
      • What we call "cosmic silence" is not the absence of sound-but the presence of a deeper harmony we are no longer attuned to.
    • This is The Great Beginning, the Big Bang.
New planes of existence in this Universe spring forth:
    • Physical Matter (Elemental Spectrum):
      • This is the birth of the Celestial Avian.
      • This gives rise to the legend and myth of the Creator cracking open a Celestial Egg and the Celestial Avian emerges, spreading the elements and creating planets and stars in its flight.
    • Mental Planes (Emotions, Psionics)
    • Spiritual Path (Astral Plane):
      • This includes The Waiting Stillness (called Abraham's Bosom in the Old Testament and Purgatory in the Catholic Church) to which all planes of existence connect.

Universal Note

The location from which That-Which-Abides first cast the Universe, is marked by the Gateway of Eternity which envelopes the exact spot, guarding it for all time.

1 Infinitesimal Fraction of a Microsecond UB

1 Second UB

A single atom of new matter is brushed against Death and begins to decay.
    • This creates the being known as Chernobog, the Elemental Entity of Entropy/Decay.

1 Minute UB

Within the first wave of matter a single molecule forms and its size attracts more matter.
    • Over time it will build to become the First Planet.

38,445,451,800 UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 61,554,548,200 BCE
The First Planet has gained enough matter and energy to become sentient, calling itself Korr'Thelan.

46,306,815,400 UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 53,693,184,600 BCE
Korr'Thelan believes it is alone in the emptiness of space, and continues to increase in size.

54,168,179,000 UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 45,831,821,000 BCE
Korr'Thelan, the First Planet, becomes so large that entire solar systems orbit it like moons.
    • Korr'Thelan has stopped increasing, believing now that the systems around it will give it plenty of opportunity to watch and play with.

62,029,542,700 UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 37,970,457,300 BCE
In a newborn system orbiting Korr'Thelan, sentient life develops within the plasma core of the new star.
    • These sentient beings become known as the Celestial Titans.
    • These Celestial Titans aren’t gods, aren't engineers by trade, and aren’t interested in micromanaging DNA.
    • They're massive stellar-intelligences, whose cognition occurs at nuclear fusion speeds across plasma fields.
    • Their existence becomes the cosmic immune system for chaotic regions of space—intervening only when entire galactic regions teeter toward collapse, runaway entropy, or extinction spirals.

69,890,906,300 UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 30,109,093,700 BCE
On Korr'Thelan itself, sentient life evolves that will be called the Older Gods.

77,752,270,000 UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 22,247,730,000 BCE
The formation of the universe, in its early form and substance, are planned and choreographed by That-Which-Abides' Hands of Creation, Merlyn Emrys and The Librarian of Creation.
    • Chief archangels, Michael of the Archangels and Lucifer the Morningstar help guide the new universe in the planned and well-choreographed process.
    • Several time-traveling super-heroes are present to witness these events.
    • The religious aspect is confirmed by Death itself.

Kaotica, working with her paramour, the Avatar of Chaos, weaves chaos into the fabric of reality of this new Universe.

86.475B UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 13.525 Billion BCE
Rallying a third of the Heavenly Host to their side, Lucifer the Morningstar begins a War in Heaven against their brother, Michael of the Archangels, who defeated Lucifer's forces and cast them down into Hell, where the absence of That-Which-Abides reformed them as demons.
    • One of the Fallen begged for forgiveness and was transformed by Michael of the Archangels into Thumos, the Retribution of God, the instrument of divine vengeance.
    • Another angel, who refused to fight for either side, was cast out by Heaven and Hell, condemned to wander the universe alone for the rest of eternity or until another took their place.

86.85B UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 13.15 Billion BCE
Elsewhere, while the War in Heaven was raging, two warring immortals, the Avatar of Order and his twin, the Avatar of Chaos, began their struggle for dominance.

87B UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 13B BCE
Uniformity, the Avatar of Order, fast-tracks the evolution of a sentient race of souls who have not yet taken a mortal shell.
    • On a planet named Aliilac, the inhabitants progress from mere consciousness to transcending into their metaphysical forms.
    • They join Uniformity in the pursuit of order and become known simply as The Order.

Real-World Alignment: 10B BCE
On the densely populated planet of Caelithe, a multi-colored-skinned race arises.
    • Their skin is a kaleidoscope of colors.
    • Rarely is one born that is of a solid, single color.

91B UB

Real-World Alignment: 9B BCE
The planet Kahlteari forms around the red star the future inhabitants will name Kahltesh.

92B UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 8B BCE
The Infinite, the very breath/spirit spreading through the universe like a bloodstream; Chi, a pattern of organic energy that threads itself throughout the universe like a nervous system, gives birth to Epoch, a sentient quasi-physical entity.
    • Epoch was created to become the cosmic custodian of the universe; to monitor beings of incredible power that might pose a threat to the universe's existence, like the immune system of the universe.
    • Epoch also eventually became responsible for nurturing the evolution of sentient life forms in the universe.

95B UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 5B BCE
Several intelligent races evolved, but most died out, replaced by new ones as time passed by.
The Caelithean Immortals were ancient harmonics-masters—beings whose connection to the Elemental Spectrum allowed them to perceive the inner resonance of all living things.
    • On their homeworld of Sutlamsa, they explored the hidden music within every organism, not to dominate life, but to awaken it.
In the shadowed stone cliffs of Sutlamsa crawled a resilient species of wall-clinging reptile—numerous, silent, and attuned to vibration.
    • The Caelitheans observed that these creatures held a dormant frequency node in their cerebral structure—an evolutionary pause point, capable of symphonic expansion.
Through an ancient practice known as Resonant Uplift, the Caelitheans sang the elemental chords of consciousness into these lizards—not with surgery or serums, but with harmonics, lightfields, and empathic resonance.
    • The process required patience, precision, and profound care.
    • It did not alter the reptiles; it revealed what lay hidden within them.
    • The reptiles are released back into the wild to chart their survival rate.
Over generations, the creatures began to awaken.
    • They dreamed.
    • They mourned their dead.
    • They made marks on stone, and those marks became language.
    • Thus were born the Psaurions - a sentient people, not built, but awakened.
The Caelitheans recognized that the Psaurions, as native-born sentients of Sutlamsa, had a rightful claim to the world.
    • With diplomatic grace, the two species agreed to co-inhabit the planet.
    • The Caelitheans constructed sky-anchored citadels and deep harmonic chambers; the Psaurions, meanwhile, built strongholds of stone and metal across the surface.
But while the Caelitheans explored life through resonance, reverence, and balance, the Psaurions—descendants of predatory, territorial ancestors—sought dominion, experimentation, and progress.
    • They dissected living animals, restructured species through crude crossbreeding, and viewed suffering as an acceptable side effect of curiosity.
What began as cultural differences evolved into philosophical war.
    • The Caelitheans saw no malice in the Psaurions—only a primitive lens, incapable (at the time) of comprehending the sanctity of resonance.
    • Despite their attempts to guide and mentor the Psaurions in elemental ethics, the chasm only grew.
Eventually, the Caelitheans departed Sutlamsa—not in anger, but in resignation.
    • They resettled on Caelithe, a mythic convergence-world aligned with all harmonic spectrums.
    • As a final gesture of hope, the labs and resonance chambers were left untouched, not out of negligence, but out of belief: that any being worthy of further evolution would find the path on their own.
    • The Psaurions did.

95.07B UB

ℹ️
Real-World Alignment: 4.93B BCE
The early Psaurions investigated the Caelitheans labs and mimicked their creators, advancing rapidly.
    • They developed starflight, codified sciences, and a rigid caste-based society.
    • Though their methods improved, echoes of their origins remained: they still dissected before they understood, conquered before they questioned.
In time, the Psaurions reached out to their estranged predecessors—not as apprentices, but as equals.
    • But the Caelitheans had changed.
    • Their once-patient, ever-teaching nature had given way to isolation, arrogance, and superiority.
    • They refused contact.
    • They spoke through emissaries.
    • When the Psaurions arrived in person, they were turned away.
    • The Caelitheans did not fear them.
    • They simply no longer believed they could learn.
Over the next century, the Psaurions buried their wounded pride under layers of nationalism and self-myth.
    • They rewrote their origin.
    • They denied their connection to the Caelitheans, replacing it with a cultural creation myth of self-ascendance and divine evolution.
A millennia followed and the Psaurions evolved—technologically, politically, and socially.
    • Their sciences advanced.
    • Their ethics began to shift.
    • They no longer dissected the living, but the memory of their creators remained.
    • Not as gods.
    • But as mythic archetypes:
      • Crystal-skinned prophets.
      • The Thought-Givers.
      • A race so advanced, they spoke only in harmonics, disappeared without a trace, and left behind devices that still sing across the canyons of Sutlamsa.
In Psaurion temples and educational scrolls, the Caelitheans are treated the way humans speak of the Annunaki or Atlantean Watchers—half-historical, half-divine, fully unknowable.
    • The reason for the Caelithean departure?
      • Unknown.
      • Forgotten.
      • Omitted.
      • Some say they ascended.
      • Others say they abandoned creation to avoid corrupting it further.
    • And every few generations, a philosopher, a scientist, a dreamseer rediscovers the truth.
      • Each time, it destabilizes their society.
      • Each time, they forget again.
      • Not through conspiracy.
      • But through trauma suppression.
      • The truth is too painful—not because of rejection, but because they were never quite enough.
In modern times (~86,168 AC), the Psaurions travel the stars.
    • They are engineers, conquerors, negotiators, and seekers.
    • And though the Caelitheans are never spoken of directly, all Psaurions feel the emptiness of that lost connection—a silence in their cosmic past.

1100 BF

Adepts swiftly learn to combine the work of multiple mages.
The first Great Work occurs when magic is "used to enrich an eroded floodplain, while the baron's men built levees to make use of the renewed soil."
This involves less than 60 supporting Mages and a single Adept
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale
One of the supporting journeymen is a very young Mage named Urtho
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale
Kiyamvir Ma'ar is born in Predain.
Also known as Mage of Black Fire
    • Though his true date of birth has been lost to time, it is hypothesized that Ma'ar was born around this time, giving him time to grow in power and become an Adept, but still be younger and not as experienced as Urtho
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter One

Around 1095 BF

Urtho, now an Adept, begins holding "movable feasts" that travel from village to city, that were actually "salons" where Mages would gather together and share Notes on their spells and other works.
These salons advance magical theory "to a level that might have taken a century more, had they not flourished."
The salons eventually collapse due to schism and war
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale

1090 BF

In the years after the salons
Urtho develops a set of "weights and measures" for magic use
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale

Around 1089 BF

Urtho becomes known as the Mage of Silence due to his ability to only use enough energy to get the job done and no more, so none can be detected by other mages

Around 1085 BF

By this time Adepts are numbered in the scores and are as influential as kings

Animal Husbandry, enhanced by magic, becomes a new trend of the Adept world.
Making creatures stronger, swifter, larger and/or smarter is called "uplifting"

One of "Urtho's predecessors" uplifts the kyree
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Two

Khal Herta, an Adept, begins "uplifting" the hertasi.
"The wild hertasi were mild-tempered reptiles, available in large quantities, living fairly simple lives."
After Khal Herta's efforts, hertasi "had simple structures, organized hunting and fishing, and rudimentary medicine"
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale

Ma'ar is a mage apprentice and his master's petty clerk.
He learns to see people as numbers - the only important thing is to achieve a certain result
    • Hypothesis: he is sixteen years old
    • Storm Rising: Chapter Eight

Around 1080 BF

When Khal Herta dies, some bands of his followers bring his notes and all of the hertasi to Urtho at Ka'venusho to "save them from certain subjugation by the unified Kyamvir tribes."
With the semi-sentient hertasi, Urtho takes the approach of increasing the intelligence of hertasi social leaders, and encouraging them to breed with their subordinates, and then increasing the intelligence of their offspring.
It creates a surprisingly seamless acceptance among the hertasi, for those who are far smarter than any had been before were their own children
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale
Urtho's greatest work, the gryphons, will take 40 years of work by 300 mages and their assistant staff
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale

1070 BF

The Mage Wars Era Begins
"Native magic fields have been harnessed like never before by cabals and individuals"
    • Historical documents dating to this time are not clear as to the extent Ma'ar was involved in the Mage Wars before rising to power in Predain.
    • It is hypothesized that Ma''ar is roughly 30 years old at this time and therefore is not suspected of being in any prominent position as yet.
    • Further research is required.
    • Under the Vale: Under the Vale
Urtho intends to plant independent groups of gryphons "in little aeries in some of the wilder parts of the mountains, creating yet another population of non-human intelligences, as [his] predecessors had done with the hertasi and the kyree."
This plan falls apart with the advent of "war among the Great Mages."
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Two

1045 BF

Low-level mage Melysatra is the bearer of the sentient magical sword Need.
"She had been a low-level mage in Urtho's army, valuable as much for the fighting skills Need gave her as for her magic."
    • Another passage believed to be of this same time period that says Melysatra "had been Need's bearer for four decades now and was well into a fifth."
    • Choices: Woman's Need Calls Me

1040 BF

    Urtho's team finally produces gryphons.
Under Urtho's direction they continue to design more gryphons based on various types of raptors: broadwings, goshawks, suntails, etc.
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Nine
Urtho controls the natural reproduction of the gryphons by keeping the requirements secret, and exaggerating the spell that must be cast.
He only grants fertility to gryphons who have proven themselves, wanting to ensure that they will make good parents
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Eleven
    Gryphons are born alive.
Gryphon nestlings benefit from mage energies, an early source of power.
They are instinctive mages, using the power about them for defense and for mating flights

1021 BF

    Kechara, the gryphon, is born.
Kechara is the first of a new gryfalcon design model, but she is "misborn" with physical and mental defects.
She is a powerful Mindspeaker and Empath.
Urtho names her from the Kale'd'ain word ke'chara, "beloved," and keeps her in his Tower, not expecting her to live long
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Sixteen
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Nine

1017 BF

    Zhaneel, the gryphon, is born.
She is smaller and has design differences that lead others to believe she is misborn.
Zhaneel is actually the first proper gryfalcon, since Kechara was an actual misborn attempt of the type

    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Six
Ma'ar's troops will arrive in one day; everyone is in a panic, loading their households onto wagons and fleeing.
    Drake's lifelong neighbors spurn him.
He is picked up by Silver Veil, a kestra'chern.
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Six
Silver Veil finds safe routes for her household as they continue to flee, usually through brutally conquered territory, sometimes bribing their way through a checkpoint by offering her services.
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Six
Zhaneel's parents die when she is "just fledged."
Whoever took over her care is unaware that she is not misborn but is a new type of gryphon, does not train her how to understand and take advantage of her differences, and does not protect her from bullying.
    • Hypothetical age. Treyvan and Hydona's gryphlets are "fledged but not flying yet, and still sub-adult" when they are 6 or 7 years old according to Winds of Fate: Chapter Eight.

    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter One
Skan sees some fledglings bullying a "small, awkward, adolescent" (Zhaneel) and breaks up the noisy altercation.
    • Hypothetical date based on being "a year or two" before the Cataclysm
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Three
Zhaneel wants to fly for Urtho's army, but she is not selected since she is seen as misborn.
She simply moves into a wing and starts flying back patrols that are usually assigned to fledglings or as punishment.

    • Sun In Glory: Errold's Journey
Melysatra and Need escape through a Gate, but get dumped in a wilderness alone
    • Note: Need has also told a conflicting story, in which she was packed into a shielded casket and survived the Cataclysm protected in a shielded temple to Bestet. There are multiple possible reasons why Need may have chosen to tell different stories about her survival: her own amusement, keeping Pol's story private, confusion due to her weakness, etc.
    • Choices: Woman's Need Calls Me
    • Storm Breaking: Chapter Four
The Third and Sixth armies are cut off from retreat and have to fend for themselves
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Seventeen
Mages with the remnants of Urtho's Third Army create a Gate which throws them far to the North.
They will eventually found the nation of Iftel
Some of Urtho's people and mercenaries (very likely the Sixth Army) use a Gate but are flung far, far out east, to a territory that will eventually become "the heart of" the Eastern Empire.
    • The modern Empire's official histories do not mention the Gate, stating that the Empire was founded by mercenaries who "marched off" to conquer land of their own.
    • Speculation. It is possible that this group merged with the High King of eight county-sized kingdoms who became Emperor of the east, as described by Kordas Valdemar in Beyond: Chapter Four. Or perhaps merged with or conquered it any time in the Empire's subsequent years.
    • Storm Warning: Chapter Fourteen

Next Day

Urtho tries to lure Ma'ar through a Gate to his Tower, hoping the destruction upon Urtho's death will kill Ma'ar. Instead, Skandranon delivers Urtho's ultimate weapon, which will dissolve the bonds of spells, to Ma'ar. Ma'ar responds by killing himself, saying he will live forever
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Seventeen
Skandranon, Kechara and Aubri dive through Urtho's Gate back to the Tower.
Aubri suggests that Urtho purpose the gate for a new destination
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Seventeen
At the k'Leshya site, Amberdrake sees a great flash of light in the East, turning “night into full day for one long, horrible moment.”
Everyone assumes it is Urtho's Tower, not knowing about the destruction of Ma'ar's Palace.
Urtho redirects the last-minute gate to the k'Leshya site, and Kechara, Aubri and Skandranon tumble through it.
Then “the Eastern horizon erupted with fire - again” as Urtho's Tower self-destructs upon his death
    • The Black Gryphon: Chapter Seventeen
Master Thomas & Errold see the flash and assume it was Urtho's Tower, which was what they expected
    • The evacuation parties knew that Urtho's Tower would be destroyed. None of them knew about Urtho's final weapon that he gave to Skan; even Urtho didn't know it would be used right away
    • According to the official maps, Errold's Grove is in the northern part of Valdemar. This means the flash they see is actually that of Ma'ar's Citadel and not Urtho's Tower. But as the traveling party had no knowledge of Urtho's weapon, it is understandable how they were mistaken in what they saw

    • Beyond: Chapter Nine
Changecircles appear randomly throughout the land, places charged with magic, containing strange plants and animals that have been merged together.
Other displacement circles occur, where no magic lingers but a foreign circular area of land has appeared in a place it doesn’t belong, such as a circular section of forest in the middle of a meadow.
The original area of land has vanished, presumably swapped with the area that has replaced it, so there might be a circular meadow in the middle of a forest.

They assist people with troubles, using her mage powers and Need’s combat skills.
But Melysatra has borne Need for forty-five (45) years and is ready to settle down, maybe open a tavern
    • Choices: Woman’s Need Calls Me

Weeks or months after the Cataclysm

Melysatra and Need come to a tall, ancient forest, and find a village threatened by a Beast.
Three of Urtho’s soldiers, from Warrik’s Wolves, are there for the same reason.
They camp for the night in a ten to fifteen acre field, a perfect circle that also cuts into nearby trees, obviously displaced.
The village tavern and inn was formerly in the area, and vanished in the displacement
    • The mystery now is, where did the tavern and inn go? Somewhere, a large circle of tall, ancient trees, including a village tavern and inn and the tavernkeeper, has appeared in someone's field
    • Choices: Woman’s Need Calls Me

The Next Day

The group follows a tracker to the Beast, which was clearly a victim of a circle, being a terrible mesh of a colddrake and a makaar, but is unable to re-enter the circle to change back.
It charges the team, knocking out two of the soldiers.
Suddenly Need demands to be given to Pol.
Melysatra is confused as Pol is clearly male, but she hands over the sword.
The three of them kill the Beast, and Melysatra realizes that Pol was born in the wrong body.
Need offers to use the magic of the changecircle to transform Pol to female, but it is a terrible risk.
Pol agrees wholeheartedly, and carries Need into the circle.
Melysatra gathers up the unconscious men and they make camp
    • Choices: Woman’s Need Calls Me

The Following Day

Pol, transformed, emerges from the circle bearing an exhausted Need.
The village is amazed at Pol’s “sacrifice” to save them.
They throw a feast for the team
    • Choices: Woman’s Need Calls Me

The Next Day

Pol's fellow soldiers are bewildered by the change, and Pol and Melysatra realize that Pol needs to make her own way.
Need explains that Pol should simply exert her will for whatever magic she needs, as Need is exhausted and may sleep for a long time.
As Pol departs at Need's silent beckoning, Melysatra arranges to build the tavern she has wanted

High King Sonat the First awards the title Duke of Valdemar to a man named Lerren
    • Family legend states this was a reward for founding the Charger line of horses used by the Knights of the Realm
    • Hypothesis: As Lerren is a mage of some significance and was not sacrificed by the High King to protect his magical equipment, this event is theorized to have occurred after the Cataclysm, yet before Sonat crowned himself Emperor
    • Note: It is not explicitly stated whether Sonat the First was the High King who survived the Cataclysm.
Kordas Valdemar says his own pedigree "dated back to when the Emperor had merely been a High King."
He could mean the office, not the person.
The time elapsed to establish the Empire is also not specified

10 years, 5 months, 1 week, 1 days, 19 hours, 40 minutes, & 48 seconds Before the Creation of the Universe

Prior to the formation of the current Universe, another universe existed which was destroyed when the Great-Darkness-Below fractured the Infinity Crystal hoping to feast upon the fear that the impending doom would bring to the universe's population. The Celestial Avian, however, reached out to touch every living mind and united them in peace, foiling the Great-Darkness-Below's plan.

The universe before was collapsing. REDACTED from the planet Orilla was ordered to set out into space to discover a method to save their world. Not finding any means to prevent the collapse of the universe, REDACTED and their shipmates decided to die gloriously by plunging their ship into the heart of the "Cosmic Gem," the focal point upon which the universe was collapsing. As the ship sped towards the Cosmic Gem, REDACTED shipmates began to be affected by the tremendous forces pulling at them and began to die. REDACTED however did not perish but was protected from the tremendous gravities by the sentience of the dying universe. This consciousness contacted REDACTED and told them that they both would die, but in the new Universe they would be reborn. The Cosmic Gem then absorbed REDACTED into itself. In spite of this, the destruction of the universe could not be stopped, but The Architect selected one being - the last living being in that universe - to survive and live on, merging him with this new Universe at the point of universal collapse.

Creation of the Universe (100 Aeons Ago)

That-Which-Abides reaches into Void, pulls out Nothingness, casts it into Emptiness from which springs forth an explosion of incalculable energies that herald the Dawn of Creation. This is the Great Beginning, the Big Bang. New planes of existence in this Universe spring forth; physical (matter), emotional (spectrum), spiritual (astral), and even Negative Limbo to which all planes of existence connect.

First Infinitesimal Fraction of a Microsecond

Those that will be considered the Children of Destiny come into existence. In order they are: Death, The Infinite, the Avatar of Lies, Kaotica, and the Avatar of Chaos.

One Second After Creation

A single spark of energy from the Great Beginning is set into motion in the void of space, which later gains sentience and becomes the Celestial Avian of this Universe.

One Minute After Creation

An army of superheroes, led by Thumos, prevent The Rogue Monitor from subverting creation.

One Day After Creation

Warrealm, occupied by Gatherer XIII and the energies released by Chernobog are pushed out of a temporal wormhole to this point by Superion. The energies Chernobog releases result in a second Big Bang that merges with the first, and both Gatherer XIII and Chernobog are destroyed and their consciousness becomes part of the resulting Universe. In its final moments, Chernobog realizes that the imperfection it had been seeking out to eliminate within the fabric of the Universe, was itself the whole time.

Ironically, this second Big Bang releases the being within the Cosmic Gem. REDACTED was hurled from the center of the explosion in their recreated spaceship. Inside the ship, REDACTED was undergoing a metamorphosis that would take eons.

82 Billion Years BCE

Mogego appears alone in the emptiness of space, and eventually forms a planet around himself. He travels across the universe to find other life, and is disappointed at what he finds, entering a long plan to plant seeds on the planets and wipe out life until only he remains.

18 Billion Years BCE

The original Firmament forms as a planet so large that entire solar systems orbit it like moons. This planet would later be called the First Cosmos. The First Cosmos was a single, eternal, unchanging universe. However, the Celestial Titans attempted to shatter it into what should have become the first ever Multiverse. Despite their efforts, though, the Strands of Time were almost immediately rewoven back into this Universe.

-----

As the Celestial Titans desired change and evolution, they continued to batter at the fabric of the Universe.

-----

The Multiverse died and was reborn several times, but never separated completely, and always being woven back into this reality.

-----

For a million years this pattern continued until right after they had shattered the Strands of Time once more, a portal appeared before the Celestial Titans and Merlyn Emrys stood before them in frustration and anger. With a simple wave of his hand, all Celestial Titans present were rocked by a slap across their heads that caused some to stagger with its power. Merlyn Emrys then raised a single finger and shook it at them and in a frustrated and commanding tone boomed out, "Stop it!" He then stepped back through the portal and continued to weave the Strands of Time from the other dimensions, journeying ever backward through Time as he did so.

17 Billion Years BCE

Life appears on the First Cosmos. The Celestial Titans introduce narrative and archetypes. The First Cosmos changes at such a fundamental level it has become known as the Second Cosmos.

15 Billion Years BCE

On the megaplanet called Second Cosmos, the Older Gods evolve.

13.875 Billion Years BCE

The formation of the Universe, in its early form and substance, are guided by That-Which-Abides' chief archangels, Michael and Lucifer. Several time-traveling superheroes are present to witness these events. The religious aspect is confirmed by Death itself.

13.7 Billion Years BCE

It was Kaotica, working with her paramour, the Avatar of Chaos, who opposed Merlyn Emrys as he weaved the separate timestreams into this new Universe.

13.525 Billion Years BCE

Rallying a third of the Heavenly Host to his side, Lucifer the Morningstar began a War in Heaven against their brother, Michael of the Archangels, who defeated Lucifer's forces and cast them down into Hell, where they were reformed as demons. One of the Fallen begged for forgiveness and was transformed by Michael of the Archangels into Thumos, the Wrath of God, the instrument of divine vengeance. Another angel, who refused to fight for either side, was cast out by Heaven and Hell, condemned to wander Eden alone for the rest of eternity or until another took their place.

13.15 Billion Years BCE

Elsewhere, while the War in Heaven was raging, two warring immortals, the Avatar of Chaos and Uniformity, the Avatar of Order, began their struggle for dominance.

13 Billion BCE

Uniformity, the Avatar of Order, fast-tracks the evolution of a sentient race of souls who have not yet taken a mortal shell. On a planet named Ailliac, the inhabitants progress from mere consciousness to transcending into their metaphysical forms. They join Uniformity in the pursuit of order and become known simply as The Order.

11.5 Billion Years BCE

As the cosmos slowly expands and gives rise to stars and planets, Elbarani the Chronicler, Avatar of The Way, records all that transpires in his book.

10 Billion BCE

On the densely populated planet of Asmaltus, a grayish-blue-skinned race arises.

9 Billion BCE

The planet Krypteria forms around the red star they name Esh.

-----

The Asmaltusians eventually achieve immortality.

5 Billion BCE

Several intelligent races evolved, but most died out, replaced by new ones as time passed by.

-----

The Drurllon alien species becomes the first to conquer other species on other worlds and creates the universe's first interstellar empire

-----

The Asmaltusian immortals study all aspects of life. They took local reptiles for testing and discover one part of the lizard's mind has the potential for much greater complexity. They enhance the creatures and find the new developments are passed to each succeeding generation. The reptiles are released back into the wild to chart their survival rate.

-----

The Asmaltusians eventually abandon their birth-world to live on the planet Oansgard, an ancient world rumored to be the center of the universe. The enhanced life forms left behind evolved into the Psaurion race. The early Psaurions investigated the Asmaltusians labs and mimicked their creators. They went as far as cutting off their tails to look more like the Asmaltusians (and as a result, disavowing their original background). After several millennia, the Psaurions left Asmaltus to follow their creators, now known as the Oansgardians, who were on Oansgard.

-----

When the two discovered each other, things were not quite what the Psaurions expected. The Oansgardians regretted their decision not to destroy their equipment before leaving Asmaltus. The Psaurions were forbidden to travel to Oansgard, though they wished to learn more from the Oansgardians. Though the Psaurions had mastered the technology, they had gained little understanding. The Oansgardians felt responsible for the Psaurions and sent them to the Vega system, where they could strive for comprehension. The Oansgardians ordered the Psaurions to stay within their assigned area so the Oansgardians would not be disturbed, as the system was off limits to the Oansgardians for other reasons. The Oansgardians hoped the Psaurions would achieve their own greatness in time. The Oansgardians' great hope has not yet come to fruition.

-----

Discovering their creators and then feeling humiliated, the Psaurions buried the truth about themselves. As a species, they forgot their background and began anew their scientific work. But as scientists, the Psaurions asked the questions all thinkers ask: "Where are we from?" The Psaurions never stopped asking this question. Again and again, the Psaurions discovered the truth about their origins, and every time they ended up suppressing the knowledge. The Psaurions refuse to acknowledge to themselves that their creators did not want them nor believe in them. When hearing the truth, in pain, they go into shock and incapacitate themselves. This process also suppresses their knowledge of their genesis.

-----

On Oansgard, one of their greatest scientists, Kronmir, uses time-bending technology to try and observe the death of the Universe. Instead, his experiment shattered the Universe and broke the fabric of Creation. Torn asunder, the very Elements themselves were scattered across the great expanse creating new worlds and new galaxies.

-----

Unbeknownst to the Oansgardians, the fracturing of the Elemental Spectrum also caused the creation of the Counter-Matter universe that would later be called just Counter-Matter. This fracturing sent a rippliing wave of energy across the universe. This would be called the Spectrum Wave.

-----

Manipulating Reality, Kaotica and the Avatar of Chaos entrust this Universe's three realms of matter, anti-matter, and dark matter to their sons.

-----

Kronmir is beheaded for his crimes and his head is planted and cared for until it grows into a tree in the shape of a face.

-----

While the Oansgardians dealt with Kronmir, some of the original immortal races began to die out due to lack of population growth, some leaving a single, immortal survivor; these survivors formed a loose brotherhood known as the Elder Guardians.

-----

The Elemental Force could barely be contained once it was fractured, so the Oansgardians created a vast cosmic loom that acted as a vortex bringing in ambient wild elemental energies and weaving them back into the fabric of reality. They called this simply, The Loom. The Oansgardians found that multiple species across the known universe had been affected on a genetic level and some showed a high-potential of controlling or manipulating one of the Elements.

-----

The Oansgardians construct an android army known as the The Hunters to establish order across the cosmos. Though they are designed to hunt down criminals, their programming quickly adjusts to include those violating the laws of nature and harmony. This makes them begin to target all biological beings.

-----

When their robotic servants malfunctioned and massacred virtually all of one sector of space, the Oansgardians decommissioned The Hunters, although many had fled to operate from the shadows on other worlds. The sector of space they had wiped out was labeled Sector 666 aka The Graveyard.

-----

Deep within Sector 666 had been Mogego, the living planet. As a sentient planet he had been one of the last to be assaulted by The Hunters. Though he fought and destroyed many of them, their sheer numbers overwhelmed him and he was rendered lifeless. His core went dead and he became a husk of a planet. It was this fight that allowed the Oansgardians to capture and decommission so many of The Hunters after their ravaging of the rest of Sector 666.

-----

Disagreeing with the disposition of The Hunters, a splinter group of Oansgardians leaves the planet, eventually becoming the Contir.

-----

The Caelitheans create a Bio-Spectral Tomography (BST) Chamber that will scan a sentient being in order to detect their attunement to the Elements. When scanned, a being will vibrate when bombarded with a specific Frequency from different Elements. The strength of vibrations will reveal how well they can manipulate that Element as the Initiate grows in power and control. Rare is when an Initiate vibrates for more than one Element. A slight tremor means they will never get beyond Student-Level. A full-body shake similar to convulsions means the Initiate will likely become a full Adept in the Element.

-----

One race that achieved immortality and great power, attempted to help two other civilizations that ended in their mutual destruction. This immortal race decided not to interfere anymore, but only to record all events in the universe. This brought them to the attention of Elbarani, the Chronicler. He took this race on to be his Researchers. They now exist, unseen for the most part, observing and reporting all that they see. It took almost a million years, but the Oansgardians finally were able to seal most of the Chaotic Elemental energy that wreaked havoc in the cosmos and could not be controlled by any sentient race. They encased this energy within a solidified planet's core, entrapping it in Sector 2814.

The dying body of a Celestial Titan attracts cosmic dust, causing it to form around the body like a cocoon in a hammock.
In its concave shape, it becomes inhabited by creatures The Wanderer calls "the old breed" and "the pre-dead", known to humans as demons.
As it grows, it begins to round off, forming a globe that gets caught in the gravitational pull of a nearby yellow star. This newly formed proto-planet will one day be called Eden.
