History

Written by: Joshua W. Murcray

Pallas, also known as Athena, was never "born" in the traditional sense as, according to legend, she sprang forth from the head of Zeus, fully formed and clothed in armor and is Zeus's favorite child. That is pretty close. The truth is much more of a romantic story. When Earth-3175 was split from the main timeline, Merlyn Emrys was The Source of this new universe and he wanted to make sure those he cared about were around to enjoy this new world. So when he traveled through time to change this timeline and make it his own, he brought his wife back to life. With intense concentration and using his vast mental powers, Merlyn Emrys resurrected his wife with just a thought, thereby creating Athena, goddess of wisdom and praised for her compassion and generosity, patron of the arts and crafts, embodiment of knowledge and rational thought. Thus Merlyn Emrys became the Zeus of legend and his favorite creation was not his daughter, though he did "create" her, but his wife.

However, knowing that the two of them could never be together, Merlyn Emrys made slight changes in order to set her apart and to never have to bare losing her again. Instead of brown eyes he gave her gray. He gave her an aura of respect and reverence so no man, or woman, could ever hurt her physically, sexually or emotionally but would instead protect and love her.Pallas Athene And then he granted her immortality so that she may always grow in knowledge and never fear death again.

In 1200 B.C. Athena, for that was her name then, joined with Hestia, Aphrodite, Demeter and Artemis in power to grant life, once again, to all of the souls of women who had unjustly died at the hands of a man. Thus were the Amazons created.

Powers

Knowledge Absorption:

Pallas AtheneAccording to Magnus Eisenghul, the Demon's Head of the Hellfire Club, Pallas Athene is a living repository of human knowledge. She is at the top of his list of people to be left unharmed or to be rescued in case of a global extinction event. Her memory is so complete and all-encompassing, she has instant recall of anything ever written whether it was published or not, including private diaries, lost books/scrolls and the entire lost Great Library of Alexandria...which is not really lost, just moved (but shh...don't tell anyone).

Magic:

If there is a spell or incantation or magical knowledge written anywhere, Pallas Athene knows it and cannot forget it.

Electrokinesis: Control over electricity, especially lightning.

Immortality: It is rumored that only Merlyn Emrys can kill her.

Size Alteration: While she can shrink herself to the size of an atom, she prefers, when threatened, to enlarge her size, making her more imposing.

Pallas AtheneTeleportation: There is no limit on where she can go. However, she can only teleport whatever she can carry.

Transformation: She can alter her shape in color, fitness, size and tone, but cannot change genders or into animals, plants or inanimate objects. She does tend to alter her appearance based on her mood. Whether it be business-like, cute, bookish, war-like or as a normal person in public.

Weaknesses

Power Loss: According to legend, Athena will lose powers when her followers lose faith in her. This is partially true. It turns out the only follower that matters is Merlyn Emrys. If he loses faith in her, her powers will slowly fade.

Merlyn Emrys: As stated above, Pallas Athene is immortal and cannot be killed by anything or anyone, except Merlyn Emrys. Which means that in order for her to die, Merlyn Emrys must allow his wife to die, again. And this time it will be him who must kill her.

Trivia

(Physical Features/Speaking Voice/Likely Vocabulary/Characteristics/Mannerisms)

Cosmetic Changes: Pallas Athene likes to change her hair color, which she can do at will. One thing she cannot change, though, is her eye color.

Etymology: Pallas Athene comes from Palladis Tamia. Palladis Tamia translates from the Greek as: Athena, Steward (Dispenser/Treasurer) of Wisdom and Statecraft. Palladis is the root word for palladium which means "safeguard" (not to be confused with the element used to make the Iron Man arc reactor in Earth-199999).

Reincarnated Memories: Palladis knows that she is the "reincarnation" of the wife of Merlyn Emrys, but she has no memory of dying and only remembers closing her eyes in one life and waking up in this one.
