History

In 1119 A.D. a Germanic knight joined The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon on their pilgrimage in Yerushaláyim, and helped uncover a secret buried beneath the Temple Mount. It was there that Sir Ehric Eisenghul from Nürnberg found the Holy Grail along with a scroll detailing the proper recipe for a mixture that, when placed within the Holy Grail, would grant whosoever drank from it, healing and an extended lifespan. If poured into the mouth of a body still warm after death, the dead could be reborn and made anew. Thus began the power of the Knights Templar.

As history unfolded and the order were hunted down, one remained in hiding, keeping a close guard of the Grail and the formula, which he had memorized. Sir Ehric Eisenghul, a member of the Order but whose name had never been put to parchment, built for himself a place of refuge and to house within the treasure gathered by the Knights.

Then, as time marched on, Sir Ehric felt the ravages of age begin to wear him down. He had managed to gather loyal men and women, but upon his death he knew that it all could fall apart and the secrets gathered, along with the Holy Grail could be lost once more. So he ordered that the Holy Grail and the serum would be prepared and, upon his death, be administered to him as a last rite.

To the shock of his people, Sir Ehric was restored to life before the very eyes of his most loyal and he began to rise from his deathbed when something unforeseen occurred. The Lazarus Serum, as it was now called, had not only resurrected him, but in so doing had activated his meta-mutant abilities, his meta-mutant gland having been a legacy passed down to him through his Kemetian mother who was a descendant of an Kemetian overseer and a Yīsrāʾēlite slave woman.

With incredible powers, a new life, Sir Eric Eisenghul, now called Magnus, formed his following into a vast worldwide organization and became The Messiah among his followers. But to the rest of the world, he is known as The Grey King of The Hand of the Beast.

Powers

Magnetokinesis:

Magnus has comprehensive control over all forms of magnetism and utilizes that control to manipulate any metal and achieve a variety of effects. Magnus can manipulate an entire planet's electromagnetic field. Magnus has harnessed magnetism to stop armies, raise islands from ocean floors, move mountains, change the course of rivers, and threaten to devastate the world with floods and earthquakes. Magnus once blanketed the entire globe with a self-generated electromagnetic pulse that caused widespread devastation. Moreover, he can use his magnetic powers in more than one way simultaneously. He can completely assemble a complicated machine within seconds through his powers. It is unclear whether Magnus's power is psionic or purely physiological in nature.

Electrokinesis: Magnus is capable of generating and projecting powerful bolts of electricity, due to his manipulation over the electromagnetic spectrum. He is capable of absorbing bolts of lightning and projecting an electric aura around himself.

Electromagnetic Sight: By concentrating, Magnus can perceive the world around himself as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. He can perceive the natural electromagnetic auras given off by living beings.

Electromagnetic Spectrum Manipulation: Although Magnus&aos;s primary power is magnetism, he can also project or manipulate any form of energy within the electromagnetic spectrum, though this is extremely tiring for him, so he primarily sticks to magnetism. He can potentially shoot and absorb forms of electromagnetic radiation or energy, create intense heat as infrared radiation, and become invisible by deflecting visible light around his body. The electromagnetic spectrum includes visible light, radio waves, ultraviolet light, gamma rays, and x-rays -- Magnus can project any of these to some extent, though doing so would dramatically tire him.

Geomagnetic Link: Magnus's meta-mutant gland plays an important role in mediating tactile perception to Eden's electromagnetic field. As it is affected, so is he. He knows instinctively all that happens to it.

Gravity Reduction: Magnus's control over the magnetic and electromagnetic force is so refined that he can shut off gravity within a limited radius of himself by reversing the polarity of the Eden's own magnetic field.

Lazarus Enhancement: Magnus has lived for several centuries thanks to his use of the Lazarus Serum which he has used countless times replenishing his aged, injured, or even dead body. As a side effect to numerous exposures to the serum his strength, speed, stamina, agility, and durability has been enhanced.

Longevity: Through the use of the Lazarus Serum, Magnus has acquired a greatly extended lifespan, allowing him to live a near immortal life for centuries.

Magnetic Armor: In addition to the obvious external force fields, Magnus can reinforce the metallic fibers of his uniform with magnetic fields, making his clothing like armor with a durability approaching 8ththbranium. With this ability, he can resist punches from opponents such as Citadelle or REDACTED and remain conscious.

Magnetic Flight: Magnus is capable of sustaining flight for very long distances and at varying speeds. Magnus interfaces with magnetic field lines in his immediate surroundings rather than along it. However, in order to travel in space, Magnus requires and is limited by the interior capacity of his force field to breathe.

Magnetic Force-Fields: Magnus usually protects himself with a personal force field that he can quickly expand to protect large areas. His force field has withstood the effects of multiple nuclear weapons, volcanic eruptions, the depths of space, and attacks from multiple T.I.T.A.N.S. or Reserves. It has protected him against plasma attacks which were hotter than the sun. It also remained intact after being attacked by REDACTED and El Fuego. Magnus can also use his force fields to hit or trap an enemy, and levitate objects and beings in the air.

Magnetic Rays: Magnus has the ability to shoot powerful rays and electromagnetic pulses, and has shown this ability to destroy both metallic and nonmetallic objects. Magnus can also use this ability to seriously injure his enemies.

Metal/Matter Manipulation: Magnus can perceive and manipulate matter at the sub-atomic level. Magnus also demonstrated the ability to indirectly manipulate non-metallic objects via metal ores they may contain. Magnus is also capable of creating powerful electromagnetic fields capable of moving and manipulating nonmetallic objects, as well as levitating them (he can also do this via force fields). He can even perceive tachyons and a variety of antiparticles.

Metal Morphing: Magnus displayed the power to physically bond metallic substances to other elements at an atomic level. This newly developed technique allows Magnus to blend alloys to earthen, watery, gaseous and even organic substances.

Organic Iron Manipulation: Magnus can control the traces of iron within organic matter and can manipulate the iron-enriched blood-flow to one's brain to potentially induce very limited effects. There are only 2.5 grams of iron in the bloodstream of a healthy human body and perhaps a gram at most in the rest of the body. As a reference, a penny weighs 2.5 grams.

Photokinesis: Magnus can manipulate, generate and redirect various fields of light as easily as he can bend metal to his will. Becomes invisible by bending it around himself, turning Aurora's own luminary based powers against her, creating holographic projections cast from over a world away and change laser trajectory.

Telepathic Resistance: Magnus has trained himself extensively for fighting telepaths, and is resistant to telepathic attack. This training is similar to that given to The T.I.T.A.N.S. Academy students by Thunderbird, although the effects are further augmented with the aid of his helmet, his strong will, and his own electromagnetic powers.

Wormhole Creation: Through an as of yet unknown application of his powers, Magnus can open wormholes between two points in space and time in order to traverse the most impassible of distances almost instantly.

Alchemy: Magnus is capable of creating unique potions that would be inconceivable using traditional methods.

Genius Intelligence: A mastermind, Magnus is a genius in various scientific fields. He is an expert in genetic engineering and mutation. He has created artificial living beings, mutated humans in order to give them superhuman powers, instilled genetic mind-control, created adult clones of human beings, and manipulated the genetic structures of those clones during their development. His discoveries in particle physics would revolutionize the field and place him among the giants of scientific history if they were to be revealed. He has designed magnetically-powered aircraft and spacecraft, space stations, an underground complex said to be a masterpiece of automated technology that would do REDACTED or Mr. Excelsior proud, complex robots and computers, magnetically-powered generators, and machines capable of nullifying meta-mutant powers within a radius of several miles.

Indomitable Will: Magnus will strive to complete his tasks, no matter what it takes.

Leadership: Magnus is a highly capable leader, as he has led The Hand of the Beast for centuries.

Martial Arts: Magnus' long life has attributed him vast wealth, knowledge, and power. This has allowed him to learn numerous fighting styles over the years, making him rival even Vigilante in hand-to-hand combat and sword fighting.

Multilingual: Magnus is fluent in English, Arabic, French, Egyptian, German, Hebrew, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Yiddish.

Occultism: Magnus possesses vast knowledge and understanding of his arcane Lazarus Serum, as well as mystical rituals that allowed him to transfer his soul into the body of another.

Swordsmanship: Magnus is a master swordsman, training even Vigilante in the ways of the blade.

Tactical Analysis: Magnus is a brilliant tactician, planning his exploits many months even years in advance.

Paraphernalia

Armor: The costume that Magnus wears is a type of armor that he has created through the use of his magnetic powers. The costume is actually an amalgam of various lightweight but highly durable metallic alloys that further protect him from physical injury. He can also use different metals surrounding him to enhance his armor, making it as strong as The Engineer's Armor.

Lazarus Serum: The Lazarus Serum is an ancient formula that, with the proper ingredients and drank from the Holy Grail, would give the drinker renewed health, vigor, and an extended lifespan. If the formula is not prepared properly or is drunk from any other cup besides the Holy Grail, the drinker would immediately wither and die, becoming nothing but ash.

Magnus's Helmet: Magnus's helmet is built to shield his mind from psychic probes and manipulation.

Weapons

Magnus relies primarily on his natural powers, although he has occasionally used magnetically-powered devices he invented, such as his machine for inducing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions from afar.

Weaknesses

Physical Condition: Magnus's ability to wield his superhuman powers effectively is dependent upon his physical condition. When severely injured, his body is unable to withstand the strain of manipulating magnetic energy. When his powers are not at their peak, he also appears to have greater difficulty utilizing his magnetism for great feats. He is also susceptible to physical and mental fatigue that can ultimately affect his ability to adequately use his powers, especially if he overuses or extends them in a short amount of time.

In Remembrance: Magnus carries an archive containing a hologram with the names of numerous meta-mutants violently killed.

Mental Illness: Magnus has a propensity for mental illness and depression. Magnus has suffered repeated episodes of mental illness, mental breakdowns, and mania. These literal "bipolar" tendencies were once diagnosed by Doctor Day to possibly be a natural side effect of his powers.

Profiler: Magnus has claimed to be able to sense the greed and envy of a man's heart, even when meeting this man for the first time. He finds it easy to manipulate others through these qualities.

Religious Beliefs: Magnus is a believer in the Abrahamic Judaism religion.

Voice: If this becomes a cartoon, the voice of Magnus should be done by Faran Tahir.
