Since time immemorial Evil has reigned in the night, feasting on the fears and doubts of mankind. Rarely were any able to battle them, even rarer were those who could see them.

But there were always some. Never more than a dozen, and all with a clear understanding of their thankless job. To hold back the flood of death that would sweep across the globe, if not for their efforts behind-the-scenes.

Every generation, or so, individuals from across the world somehow find themselves following Destiny and joining together to form a protective barricade between humanity and all that Evil will send. Some members have been around since the beginning. Others are only recently come into their power and path. No matter who they are, or where they come from, or even how they got there, all of them know within their hearts that they will die to protect their loved ones and the future from the monsters they encounter.

Today, there are just twelve known members of this group of rogues, for Rogues they are because, despite being on the side of Good, their methods are dangerous and they answer to no one but themselves. While their numbers fluctuate, as not all can answer the call in time, when they do come together they are a force that even the darkest and most vile will fear.
