History
Written by: Joshua W. Murcray

Born in 1932 Tremontaine "Tre" Vaccarro is born to Santo Vaccarro and Virginia Brand, in Tremontaine in the Commonwealth of Muhsachuweesee. Running away from home, at the age of 13, he joined the circus and, after a few years, worked himself up to becoming the Ringmaster.

Then, one day in 1966 the mob came to visit. They wanted to use the circus as a front to smuggle drugs and alcohol across state lines. Tre refused and kicked them out of his circus. But the Mob was not going to take "No" as an answer. The next day, on September 10th, they kidnapped Tre and buried him alive. Though he thought he was going to die, somehow his un-activated meta-mutant gland kept him alive in suspended animation, until The Great Burn swept across the world.

With a newly activated gland, his meta-mutant powers tried to revive him, but his body was too far gone. While he was still technically alive, it was only in spirit and mind. His body had decayed past revival. So his mind reached out and gathered the very rock around him, forming a new body. Taking the name of Avalanche, he went in search of those who had killed him, only to discover that it was no longer 1966, but was 2038.

Hiding from civilization, Avalanche tracked down his old circus only to find it had been abandoned. Living there, Avalanche helps rebuild communities while also rooting out the criminals, all while searching for any sign of the mob that put him in the ground decades before.

Gifts

(See The Grid)

Durability: Godlike: Avalanche's extremely dense bodily tissue is considerably harder and more resistant to injury than the body of an ordinary human. He can withstand great impact forces, high caliber bullets, temperature and pressure extremes, and falls from great heights without sustaining any injury.

Geokinetic Psychic Entity

Tre Vaccarro's body is composed completely of inorganic, hardened, rock or earth. It is hypothesized by Mr. Excelsior that given Vaccarro's ability to reform his body after being destroyed, Avalanche is actually a non-physical psychic entity that can form and control a stone "golem". This means he has no physical body. While born a human, his meta-mutant activation separated his body from his mind and now he identifies as a Psionic Entity. Tre Vaccarro's visage in the Astral Plane represents the manner in which he appeared during his final moments as a living human being. As such, he consistently appears in the Astral Plane wearing a top hat, and a red ringmaster coat.

_____Intangibility: He can pass through anything and everything while in his astral form. This is an automatic ability, and one that Avalanche has no control over.

_____Invisibility: He cannot be visibly perceived by other human beings in his astral form. This is an automatic ability, and one that Avalanche has no control over. Beings gifted with supernatural prowess, like Spector, may be able to see Avalanche's true form.

_____Possession: While in his astral form, he has the ability to possess other living creatures. While doing this, he maintains full control over his selected target, and can even speak through them. A host body gifted with a particularly willful spirit however, has been known to exorcise Avalanche's presence from their form. Typically whenever Avalanche abandons a host form, they maintain no knowledge or memory of their actions while possessed. Avalanche can only possess one human being at a time. Prolonged attachment to a specific host places Avalanche at risk of a permanent bonding (the nature of which has been known to vary from time to time)

_____Speed: Flight: Subsonic: Sometimes called Spirit Travel, he possesses the ability to fly between the lands of the living and the lands of the dead while in his astral form. By extension he is able to levitate, float and fly in both worlds. When possessing a human or rock form however, Avalanche is limited by whatever physical restrictions apply to the host body.

Rock Explosions & Rock Projectiles: Avalanche once was able to fire "granite projectiles" using his appendages, but now he has the power to explode on command and reform himself from any surrounding rocks.

Stamina: Superior: Avalanche's musculature generates less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. He can exert himself at peak capacity for at least 24-hours before fatigue begins to impair him.

Strength: Level-75: Avalanche has continuously been shown performing great feats of strength. He is capable of lifting 75 tons.

Skill(s)

(See The Grid)

Dexterity: Athlete: Acrobatics: Tre Vaccarro was an acrobat and terrific circus performer in his mortal life.

Fighting: Athlete

Intelligence: Occultism: Avalanche is intimately familiar with many dimensions of the Astral Plane and has knowledge of many of the mystical powers that interact with the living world.

Weaknesses

Energy Blasts: Avalanche can be split into pieces by powerful energy blasts from enemies such as Melltithio.

Geokinesis: Because Avalanche's body is composed of rock or earth, he is susceptible to others who control rock materials like Citadelle.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Avalanche has mentioned he suffers from claustrophobia, a type of PTSD due to his being buried alive.

Power Limitation: The health and nature of whichever host body he is possessing at the moment may place certain physical limitations on this ability. If Avalanche possesses the body of an out of shape, middle-aged man, he will not be able to tumble as dexterously as he would were he in possession of a more athletic specimen.

Rock Separation: If parts of his body are ripped off and thrown very far away they will not come back, but he will be able to reform them later when he has time to concentrate.

Trivia

(Physical Features/Speaking Voice/Likely Vocabulary/Characteristics/Mannerisms)

All Aglow: When Avalanche possesses the body of another living being, that host body is surrounded by a green glow which cannot be seen by mortal eyes - only by those who can see the Spiritual Realm.

Call It: Boston Vaccarro "died" at exactly 2 am on September 10th, 1966. It was his 34th birthday.

Voice: If the Amalgam Universe 2.0 were to become a cartoon, the voice of Avalanche should be Vin Diesel.
