Personification of Death: Being an inconceivably powerful being, Death is both lord and personification of all death. Death meets with the recently deceased and guides them into their new existence. Unlike most personifications of death, she also visits people as they are born. Evidently, only she seems to remember these encounters.

Amortality: Death itself cannot die, since it is not truly alive. As a cosmological concept, the basic laws of the universe would have to change to erase death.

Cosmic Manipulation: Unlimited ability to manipulate reality, time, space, matter, energy, or magic for any purpose. It rarely uses this power, however, possibly because it does not wish to upset Merlyn Emrys, who could endanger it.

Death: Death itself can liberate the soul or spirit of a living being but generally leaves this task to the various beings of the afterlife, such as the Grim Reaper, Chernobog, Yahweh, or Lucifer. Because Death is the embodiment of all death, every lost soul belongs to it, so the agent of passage is irrelevant. Death can also reverse that passage and return a being to life, but that rarely happens and usually at the behest of the Avatar of Life. Death can choose to ignore certain beings, possibly as a mark of respect for their ability to survive. Merlyn Emrys, Pallas Athene and one or two others fall into this category. Other beings with the proper knowledge, such as the Spector or Vanquisher, can challenge Death directly; by succeeding at this challenge, they become immune to true death.

Gift of Death: Death has the power to free the soul of a body and send a soul to their appropriate destination (usually an afterlife or reincarnation). Death often leaves this task to various Death Gods. For Death Gods or demons to claim a soul instead of Death herself, they usually have to have a valid claim on the soul; either a contract or the deceased worshipped the Death God's pantheon. The exact nature of the relationship between Death Gods and Death itself is unknown. If there is no contract, then the dead are usually collected by the Grim Reaper. Unless Chernobog gets to them first.

Gift of Life: Death apparently is also there at the time of ones birth and can infuse a body with life. She commonly does this at the time of birth or at certain times to give another a second chance (reincarnation) the criteria for the latter is not known. This is extremely rare. Mostly she is just there to see something beautiful in an existence usually so grim.

Illusion Casting: It has been illustrated that Death takes on many forms, depending on the location and time of its appearance.

Immortality: Death can only be hurt by means that it allows. Besides, if Death is destroyed, its personality and powers are instantly transmitted to another person, who must become the new embodiment of that aspect. The only exception to this is Merlyn Emrys.

Magic

Metamorphosis

Nigh-Omnipotence: Death, itself, is a cosmic level entity, and, as such, is more than capable of achieving virtually any effect desired within regulated limits.

Omnipresence

Omniscience

Soothing Appearance: If Death manifests itself to a mortal being in its final moments, it may take the form of a loved one. When High King Ordan died, for instance, it manifested itself as Lianna, his greatest love, who had died mere moments before him.

Trivia

Peekaboo: Except for those near to dying, Thanoyama, and Stargrave are the only known non-cosmic beings who can see Death.

Checking In: Being Death, she is omnipresent; literally occupying everywhere on Earth at any moment, but not in a form visible to humans, usually. However, about once a century, Death takes a mortal form in order to understand her charges on Earth. It is unknown whether or not she does this on other worlds as well.
