History
Written by: Joshua W. Murcray

As the former Amalgam Universe collapsed it caused all matter and energy to converge into one location, a spot being studied by a cosmic world devourer from that universe. As that universe collapsed in on itself, it centered around this being, splitting him apart and, as part of it died, it opened a gateway to the Anti-Matter Universe granting the surviving half enormous amounts of power. When the new universe exploded outward, it hurtled this being into the cosmos, changing him over the course of eons, into the cosmic force modern man will name Chernobog.

Unique Physiology:

The embodiment of entropy, Chernobog takes the form of pure energy contained inside a humanoid suit of armor, colossal in size. Possessing immeasurable cosmic power, Chernobog is one of the most powerful beings in the universe, has near-limitless godlike powers, and is considered an omnipotent entity. His cosmic powers are beyond most forms of measurement. He was once referred to as "the most awesome living entity in the cosmos." He has been ranked around the same level of power as High King Gandin Borthetsson, Zeus Portochaka, the Celestial Titans, and Mysterium, but well below Uniformity, and Avatar of Chaos, who, in turn, are well below The Designer and Overseer, who, again in turn, are well below Merlyn Emrys. As such, Chernobog can employ the cosmic energy within himself to produce virtually any effect he desires. Chernobog has also shown the ability to overcome High King Gandin Borthetsson. Chernobog and his various Omens were stated to be cosmic level threats. He himself was stated to be a "Universal" threat by the Spectrum Corps. Although Chernobog' power is great, it is fully dependent on the amount of energy he has absorbed from planets. If he does not feed regularly, he will weaken and starve to death. Normally, he needs to feed once a month and he is at his weakest between feedings. Additionally, some planets have unique energies that give him much more power than usual, but such planets are quite rare.

Adapted Appearance: Although Chernobog is usually represented in humanoid form, each sentient being in the universe perceives him having a form resembling their own. This is a side effect of his being, causing his appearance to change based on the mental image of the beholder.

Cosmic Awareness: Chernobog can sense disturbances or changes within the cosmic ether on a universal scale.

Durability: Virtually Indestructible: Chernobog is immune to all diseases, ailments, and toxins. In addition, he is enormously resistant to damage. He was able to survive from two planets colliding and a sizable nuclear arsenal, but was severely injured in the process; however, this happened while his power was drained. After High King Gandin Borthetsson headbutted him from the outer atmosphere all the way to Earth, Chernobog very swiftly recovered, while High King Gandin Borthetsson was severely injured and forced to enter Gandin Sleep. He has personally battled scores of the strongest heroes from hundreds of universes simultaneously without taking any damage whatsoever.

Energy Absorption: Arguably this is Chernobog' most viable power, as his very survival depends on absorbing the life energy from either planets or stars. During his fight with the Surtrigon, he showed that he is even capable of absorbing an entire domain.

Energy Projection: Chernobog can project devastating energy blasts. In effect, after consuming the life energy of several planets following a period of starvation and thus still heavily weakened, Chernobog proved capable of destroying at least three solar systems. Chernobog has effectively affected entire galaxies while battling the powerful demon-lord Surtrigon, and would have annihilated the universe if the battle had continued any longer. Being the physical embodiment of a cosmos, his brute power must be, in standard conditions, at least universal in scope. Chernobog was also stated to transcend space and time altogether, making him beyond the physical universes and classifying his raw power beyond the multi-universal level.

Force-Fields: Chernobog can erect near-impenetrable energy shields.

Healing Powers: Chernobog can heal himself and others from physical wounds, although this may simply be molecular reconstruction. If he is grievously injured, he can restore himself by consuming a planet.

Immortality: Chernobog is said to be destined to survive until the end of the universe.

Interdimensional & Intradimensional Portals: Chernobog can create wormholes both between and within dimensions.

Life Creation: Chernobog can create complex, sentient, biological or bio-technical life forms seemingly from nothing, or at least by using his control over molecules to do so.

Matter Transmutation: Being a cosmic being, Chernobog can control matter in any object, which allows him to turn something tangible, like lead, into something intangible, like water.

Molecular Restructuring: Chernobog can manipulate, reshape, and rearrange the molecular complexions of any organism, allowing him to rebuild or redesign things internally.

Power/Ability Bestowal: Chernobog' Omens, like Grim Reaper, whom he has endowed with a minuscule fraction of his cosmic power, are able to manipulate matter and energy in ways that are far beyond human comprehension.

Recreation: Being a cosmic being, Chernobog can recreate the entire planet Orilla, including population, etc. in every detail.

Resurrection: Chernobog can resurrect the dead.

Size-Alteration: Chernobog's base height and weight will diminish when he is greatly in need of life-giving energy. Chernobog can increase his size and mass at will, the extent of which is unknown. He once grew to a stature so great that he could wrestle with a sentient star.

Soul Control & Manipulation: Chernobog can control and manipulate the souls and spirits of living beings at will. He uses this power to alter the memories and emotions of others.

Speed: Flight: Warp Speed: Chernobog can traverse or glide through air and space using sheer willpower. Despite its size, Chernobog can fly at speeds that greatly surpass the speed of light.

Stamina: Godlike: Chernobog can partake in physical strenuous action, like battles, for an undefined period of time, but absorbing the energy of a planet will only sustain him for a month and using it will cause the time-span to lower dramatically, so he normally cannot fight for too long. But draining the energy of a universe can sustain him for eons. Chernobog was able to fight his sister, Overseer for over one million years.

Strength: Incalculable: Chernobog has demonstrated the potential for a solar scale of limitless strength.

Telekinesis: Ability to move enormous amounts of mass through mental concentration.

Telepathy: Chernobog is telepathic and able to read or communicate with other minds across universal distances.

Teleportation: Chernobog can make himself, other people, and objects appear anywhere in the entire universe that he wishes with a mere thought. He has even teleported the planet Mogaeago from one galaxy to another.

Intelligence: Immeasurable: Chernobog, as one of the oldest known living beings in the universe, possesses one of the universe's absolutely most advanced minds. His scientific knowledge is beyond human understanding. Mr. Excelsior has admitted an inability to fully comprehend even the most rudimentary devices found within Chernobog's Solarship, Ṭaicaṉ Kōḷam, and has said that it is the greatest source of clean energy in the universe. The Moonship itself is a solar system-sized construct that is said to surpass any natural world in beauty and splendor and yet, within its computers is contained knowledge so unfathomable and far-reaching, it can grant awesome power to those who come into contact with it.

Weaknesses

Cosmic Hunger: Chernobog requires unknown energies obtainable only from certain types of planets to sustain his life. The suitable type of planet need not be one where life is present, but it must have at least the potential to support life. When recently stated, Chernobog is incredibly powerful; however, the longer he goes without feeding, the more his strength, power, and cosmic awareness wane. Indeed, over one month after consuming a suitable planet his power will have already been reduced exponentially, although in such a hungry state his powers are still far beyond mortal comprehension. In recent times Chernobog has been known to go without feeding for numerous months at a time, bringing him to the brink of death and reducing his power to such a degree that superhuman teams such as The Foundation, The T.I.T.A.N.S., etc. can defeat him. When he first emerged from his incubator, Chernobog could go without feeding for over 100 years before his cosmic hunger weakened him to a significant degree. Why the intervals between his feedings have decreased over millennia is unknown.

De-Powerment: Chernobog was not originally a cosmic being. He was the mortal REDACTED who was cosmically empowered when the previous universe ended and then began again; therefore, it is possible for him to be de-powered and return to his original form of REDACTED. Chernobog can change back into REDACTED willingly, at least temporarily.

Power Limitation: Chernobog is now an energy being and requires a physical shell to give its material form. A consequence of this is that while the shell can be shattered, the energy that makes up Chernobog can only be dissipated and not actually destroyed.

Equipment

Armored Containment Shell: Chernobog wears a full-body suit of armor of his own design, constructed from an unknown material, that helps him regulate and control his energy. It is a separate apparatus that can be taken off or physically removed, and it remains even if Chernobog loses his powers or dies. Without his armor, Chernobog takes on a multi-armed humanoid form of crackling energy.

Chernobog's Moonship, Mṛtyutārakam III: Although Chernobog is capable of space travel via his own power, he disdains the needless expenditure of power and prefers to travel in starships of his own design. Though Chernobog has many different starships in his personal fleet, his preferred long range vessel is his sphere-shaped Moonship, Mṛtyutārakam III (over 99 miles [160 kilometers] in diameter) which is capable of trans-light speeds and interdimensional travel. Chernobog has even on rare occasions been shown to travel in his solar system-sized Solarship, Ṭaicaṉ Kōḷam.

Food Processor: Chernobog often employs his Elemental Deconstructor when devouring planets to help him in the conversion of matter into energy. Although he does not require this device to devour planets and will forego its use in certain scenarios, it does make the conversion of energy more efficient.

Weapons

Doomsdays: Chernobog often employs a large group of humanoid robots named Doomsdays, which possess vast superhuman strength, speed, and durability, both to guard his Solarship, Ṭaicaṉ Kōḷam, and battle adversaries whose power levels do not warrant his immediate attention or are completely beneath his notice. One Doomsday alone is strong enough to battle Ele'ele 'O Rokk to at least a standstill.
