Specimen X is a genetically grown alien-human hybrid. With materials taken from captured aliens from the Roswell, State of New Mexico crash landing in the mid-1900's; spliced with the purest human DNA and the hardiest types of flora; Marcus Kent grew to be a being of perfection.

During his growth, his mind was also developed as the scientists at Starshield Labs uploaded information directly into his mind. Books like Friedrich Nietzsche, Harper Lee, & the Bible; to list a few. At the same time, they uploaded books on science, culture, history, psychology, and tactics. While his body was trained in martial arts and warfare, each night he would fall asleep to an upload of strategy, computations, and language.

As SUPE_rM_n he was an honorable and morally upright member of the military forces deployed during the Venezuela Revolutionary War.

After the war ended, SUPE_rM_n was sent to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in an attempt to broker peace with them and to get them to stop their development of nuclear weapons. During the negotiations, while touring one of their missile manufacturing factories, a factory worker who did not know that SUPE_rM_n would be touring, thought the factory was under attack, and triggered the failsafe, the detonation of their uranium stockpile.

Unable to stop the explosion, SUPE_rM_n managed to get everyone to a safe distance before heading back into the factory to try and shut it down, but he was too late and the explosion irradiated him down to his cellular level. An unforeseen effect of this was that all the radiation from the explosion was absorbed by SUPE_rM_n's body, keeping the area free of nuclear fallout. But the damage to his body was too much and it began to breakdown. As his body disintegrated, each atom of his irradiated body was replaced by an particle of energy, slowly recreating his body in an energy form.

This horrible and terrifyingly painful process took days and when it was over SUPE_rM_n had been completely recreated more powerful, and in a way that changed his life. Changing his name to Superion, Specimen X aka Marcus Kent disappeared from the planet in order to gain better control over his new form and powers before coming back to Earth.

Though he has returned to Earth on several occasions Superion does not stay very long, preferring to travel the cosmos helping species he meets. When he first came back to Earth, he was one of the founding members of the team known as The T.I.T.A.N.S. but left soon after when a comet threatened to destroy a planet whose people were just developing space flight.

Electrical Physiology:

The radical mutation that had taken over Superion had turned him into an energy-based life form that didn't normally exist wholly within this plane of reality. Superion's unique physiology allows him to collect cosmic radiation and operates in a process like nuclear fusion, specifically processing and gaining nourishment from solar photon particles. As a result, he possesses various superhuman attributes:

Energy Manipulation: SUPERHUMAN: Superion is capable of willfully manipulating great amounts of cosmic and electromagnetic energy, like magnetism, gravitational forces, radiation, and electricity, for a few physical purposes:

Agility: AMORPHOUS: Superion's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Density Shifting: In his energy form, he can become intangible allowing him to phase through solid objects or down to the point where he is a normal human, but in this state, he possessed no powers and was no more powerful that the average human male.

Durability: GODLIKE: Superion can withstand high caliber naval gun fire, exposure to near absolute temperature (from -455 to 11,000 degrees Fahrenheit without issue) and pressure extremes, powerful energy beams and great impact forces. He is also able to survive in the void of a destroyed universe.

_____Electromagnetic Reconstitution: Superion can purposely channel cosmic energy to rebuild himself should he ever be non-corporeal. His new form seems to have also altered his aging process. Enhanced Hearing: Superion is capable of hearing with amazing clarity and distance, and even perceiving frequencies outside normal range.

Enhanced Vision: Superion also possesses a superior sensory arrangement of visual capabilities, including:

______Atomic Vision: Superion is capable of firing beams of highly intensive heat from his eyes that is often referred to as Atomic Vision, as well as several others. The full limit of his Atomic Vision is not known, but it can be presumed that he can generate up to at least 12,000 degrees Fahrenheit and is powerful enough to kill someone as resilient as Tiapolotautai.

______Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision: Superion can see all forms of the electromagnetic spectrum as well as any shifts within it.

______Microscopic Vision: Superion can see all things down to the microscopic level.

______Telescopic Vision: Superion can see objects in clear detail at long distances, even a minuscule thing like strands of DNA, while in orbit.

______X-Ray Vision: Superion is capable of peering through solid objects.

Flight Speed: LIGHT SPEED: Superion can levitate himself and fly through the air at tremendous speeds by harnessing and manipulating anti-gravitons. At his peak, he can travel as a bolt of lightning landing with a jolt whenever he landed and can achieve speeds faster than lightning, over 61 miles per second. Once in space, he can reach light speed.

Land Speed: ORBITAL VELOCITY: Superion can run, move, and react at speeds that are far beyond the physical capabilities of even the finest human athlete; capable of moving faster than lightning, his top speed is beyond Mach 4 (3,700 miles per hour) within Earth's atmosphere.

Reflexes: SUPERHUMAN: Superion's reflexes & agility are similarly enhanced and are far superior to those of the finest human athlete.

Self-Sustenance: Superion also does not require air, food or water to survive.

Solid Field: ability to produce a solid field that allows him to physically interact with objects. He is also able to control the shape and size of his field.

Stamina: RECHARGEABLE: He can exert himself physically at peak capacity for several days, his ability to convert solar photons into energy sustaining him before he begins to tire. Superion is also able to physically withstand the rigors of space without any special clothing, and he has stated that he does not need to breathe.

Strength: INCALCULABLE: Superion possesses great physical strength. His strength most likely reaches beyond Class 100+, since Marcus Kent can hold two planets apart to prevent them from colliding with each other for a period of time, confront Wrath blow-for-blow until Wrath reverted back to human form, and lift the entire city of Atlantis out of the water and fly high in the air with it. True limits of his strength is still unknown since it fluctuates over time.

Technopathy: ability to link with electronic systems such as computers.

Water Speed: MAXIMUM: Ability to reach a top swimming speed of 700 knots (805.55mph/1,296.40kph). Detrimental environmental effects will occur, causing water to convert to plasma, etc.

Acrobatics: There have been times when Superion has lost his powers and had to rely on his own nimbleness, agility, balance and body coordination to help him get by and survive.

Chi Manipulation: Superion learned the art of the Chi-Randikai under the instruction of REDACTED. He learned how to manipulate his Chi or Qi to help him gain better control over his powers. Superion recommended to SUPR_gI_rL that she should go train with REDACTED herself.

Fighting Skills: SUPERHUMAN: Due to having superpowers all his life and constantly engaging in battle with various foes, Superion has been able to fully master them. He has, over time, become an excellent hand-to-hand fighter utilizing a fighting style that directly complements his superpowers before his transformation. Superion's combat versatility allows him to adapt to any foe and capable of defeating almost any adversary. Additionally, he has become adept in the following styles of fighting:

Firearms: Despite all of Superion's great power and fighting skill, he has at times used guns. Whether weakened in power, in acts of desperation or training purposes. Marcus, if he needs to, will resort to the use of a firearm.

Intelligence: SUPERHUMAN: Superion has been able to calculate the impact point of a Hirudinean Bomb when The Engineer could not, even noting specific flaws in The Engineer's design while doing it. He is capable of interpreting DNA code, at a glance, accurately enough to determine parentage. His mind itself is a nonlinear photonic array, storing his memories in light, with virtually instantaneous recall: his mind is structured in such a manner that memories are to him as "real" as the present, his most vivid memory dominating his perceptions.

Indomitable Will: Superion has shown to have a powerful spirit, free of corruption and temptation. He was taught to protect life and help others. He is very optimistic and never gives up, even when things look bad. Superion has learned how to place mental inhibitors on his own power so that he does not accidentally "flex and cause the tectonic plates to shift." To him, they are the barriers that allow him to feel human enough to live a healthy life, and he only ever releases one of them when fighting a particularly powerful opponent or performing a difficult task.

Intimidation

Investigation: Both as a superhero and as a journalist, Superion is an expert at gathering evidence from all kinds of sources. Even Vigilante has given Superion props for his deductive reasoning skills. Reyndzher refers to both Superion and Vigilante as The Hardy Boys. Superion reveals he was taught how to learn of his opponent's weaknesses and use it against them. Utilizing that skill, to identify and adapt to foes, that are capable of getting stronger and smarter over the course of a battle.

Journalism: Superion is one of the best reporters at The Planet Bugle, rivaled only by his love interest, Lois Lattimer. He gained a Pulitzer Prize at least on one occasion.

Leadership: Superion has proven many times over his ability to command respect and inspire others with his charisma, ardor, and idealism. He often serves as the primus inter pares of The T.I.T.A.N.S. when he is on Earth.

Meditation: During his 20's, Superion traveled around to see the world and learn more about his original powers. In the Kingdom of Bhutan, Superion learned of their customs and the secrets they had to offer, which involved meditation and yoga techniques; taught to him by the former Druk Gyalpo. His training in the Kingdom of Bhutan was most effective when his powers went out of control, due to excessive amounts of energy coursing through his body, at the time. He even resorted to meditation when creating the virtual world of Cosmetropolis.

Mental Resistance: After an attack by involving telepathy, mind control and illusions. Vigilante suggested that The T.I.T.A.N.S. should train with Thunderbird to combat this vulnerability, for future attacks. Superion heard of the attack and asked Archimage for training to make his mind more resistant against such threats.

Multilingualism: English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish.

Occultism: Mirage has begun educating Superion on different kinds of magic, and different effects of it.

Swordsmanship: Considering Superion's reputation in hand-to-hand combat and his use of his powers, Superion is actually quite the skilled swordsman, capable of fighting on par with X-Terminator in a duel. He even slayed a Troll while protecting James Warlock, when he realized it wasn't even alive due to it not breathing and having no pulse. He overcame a copy of himself in a sword duel, when travelling the globe without his powers.

Tactical Analysis: Marcus was capable of deducing a proper way of subduing and escaping The T.I.T.A.N.S., while in mid-training fight with them.

High-Pitched Noises: Because of his super hearing and his energy matrix, Superion's body is extra-sensitive to extreme noises. This gives individuals like Warhawk, Royal Hawk and Harmony who use sonics, a particular advantage in combat against him if they can find the perfect vibrational range to affect his energy form.

Lead: While Superion cannot see through lead with his X-Ray Vision powers, he can shift his density enough to walk through it, but doing so can be painful depending on the amount.

Magic: Superion's biomatrix is his most powerful asset, but the strength of this field is also its greatest weakness. Its permeability to certain wavelengths makes him vulnerable to certain radiations, particularly magical energies whose chaotic electromagnetic or extra dimensional signatures disrupt this field. Superion's vulnerability to magic varies depending upon the special effects of the magic. He can be injured and worn down by magical entities. Magic can have powerful and unpredictable effects on Superion and his magical enemies have often proven to be the most dangerous.

Nthbranium: Superion's energy matrix may not be vulnerable to most things, but Nthbranium can disrupt his form, causing him pain and eventual disbursement.

Psionics

Solar Energy Dependency: His abilities will eventually weaken without replenishing his energy reserves with solar radiation, especially if he does not have any direct contact with sunlight. If Superion is cut off from the source of his strength, nourishing solar photons particles from the sun, then his strength and abilities gradually are weakened, ultimately making him vulnerable. The Engineer found that sterile neutrinos, through dark radiation, can countermand Superion's radiation.

Motto In Life: He lives by an often referenced maxim "Truth without compromise, thought without error, all things for the betterment of the whole".

The Jester: Marcus does not care about Jester, if the situation ever arises that he needed to kill him, he would do it. He finds Jester to be full of uncertainties, a nobody trying to hog an imaginary spotlight. But he does find him smart and dangerous.

Meaningful Name: Superion's African Samburu name is Moja Ini Chapa Nyumba, which means One Heart, Many Homes.
