Avatar Physiology:

As with all avatars, Maká Nagi (not his birth name) was granted a new form when he was chosen to become the vessel of the Nagi Spirits. Unlike some Guardians (avatars), Maká Nagi cannot revert back to his human form until the Nagi Spirits are done with their mission, which they have not told him of. According to tradition this happens every 300 years and the Chosen One will remain Maká Nagi until they die, either in battle or old age. While the present day Chosen One already had meta-mutant abilities that were enhanced to greater levels when he became Maká Nagi (there is a theory that his original powers were granted by the Nagi Spirits and are not meta-mutant in origin). Those abilities he has shown so far include:

Flight: Maká Nagi is able to propel himself through the air without any aid. The exact limit of his flight speed is unknown, but it can exceed the speed of sound.

Invulnerability: Maká Nagi's body is harder and more resistant to certain types of injury than the body of an ordinary human. For instance, he can withstand the force generated by great impacts. He can withstand impact forces, such as falling from several stories, being hit by certain level energy blasts, and being struck by a superhumanly strong opponent, that would severely injure or kill a normal human.

Lakota Shaman Abilities: His magical abilities, granted by the Nagi, allow him to see spirits, detect their weaknesses, and to guide others in the Astral Plane. Using his access to the Spirit Realm, he can channel a small amount of energy towards healing those in his care. This ability as a channel also allows him to divert magical or energy attacks into the Spirit Realm where it is transmuted and used to increase the power of the Spirits.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Maká Nagi recently showed regenerative capability, the extent of which is currently unknown but seemingly he can heal minor injuries ranging from minor cuts, bruises and abrasions to more extreme physical trauma like internal rupturing, perforation and deep lacerations caused by incredibly dense.

Superhumanly Acute Senses: Maká Nagi's senses of sight and hearing are enhanced to levels beyond the capabilities of an ordinary human. He is able to see, with perfect clarity, at much greater distances than an ordinary human. He retains this same level of clarity, even in near-total darkness. His hearing is similarly heightened, enabling him to both hear sounds that ordinary humans can't and sounds that they can detect but at much greater distances. His sense of smell allows him to smell chemical changes in others.

Superhuman Agility: Maká Nagi's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Reflexes: Maká Nagi's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete. He is even capable of evading gunfire.

Superhuman Speed: Despite his great size, Maká Nagi is capable of running and moving at speeds much greater than even the finest human athlete. At his peak, Maká Nagi is capable of running at speeds up to 100 miles per hour.

Superhuman Stamina: Maká Nagi's physical stamina is such that he possesses greater physical stamina than any ordinary human, or horse, and can exert himself at his peak for up to 24 hours before the buildup of fatigue toxins in his blood began to impair him.

Superhuman Strength: Currently Maká Nagi possesses some degree of superhuman strength, though the exact amount of weight he can lift is not known. It has ranged over the years from 5 tons to 90 tons. As a teenager his strength level was roughly equivalent to 2 tons. He grew substantially in height, muscle mass, and strength as he got older. It seems the activation of meta-mutant glands "rebooted" the genetic codes of his people, allowing some of them to access aspects of their physical or mental capabilities that were previously unknown to them. In Maká Nagi's case, it turned out that he had apparently been limiting himself but, under the possession of the Nagi, his strength level apparently increased to some degree and he developed the power to fly under his own command. Maká Nagi may have reached the previously mentioned 90-ton level at this point, or even beyond.

Avatar Form: His entire body is solid black including his hair and eyes. His legs are like those of a really muscular, hairy horse. They have a knee, but then curve backward and do not end in a foot, but dinner plate-sized hooves.

Jewelry: The jewelry he has strung in various places on his body are mementos from either tribes who gifted him their thanks for his help, or are taken from those who challenged his right to be Maká Nagi.

Meaning of His Name: Maka = Earth spirit. Nagi = A Spirit that is connected to all that the Creator has gifted in life (like the Elements, Animals and Humans.) Some Nagi "feed" on the emotions of mankind. Maká Nagi feeds on the love of mankind for their land and the wildlife and thus has a Benevolent nature. Because the Nagi were not blessed by the Creator with a corporeal vessel, they have a difficult time showing themselves. This leads to some Spirits taking on the appearance of an anthropomorphic Animal, an Elemental figure, an incomplete Human or a monstrous Human figure. Once every 300 years an avatar among The People is chosen to be a vessel for the Nagi. To guide The People, protect them if needed, and to fight their wars if necessary.
