Originally, Princeps Rex's powers were linked to the Amulet of Atlantis, worn around his neck, and he depended on a mace-like Staff of Arion to fly. Later on, Merlyn Emrys changed his costume just before he entered an alternate Earth (Earth-616), removing the Amulet and the Staff placing the powers in his new costume. Not long after that Princeps Rex was killed by the brother of Izaya Puceanu, the father of Raseri, and had his body remade by Merlyn Emrys, who chose this point to make his powers innate and stronger, with his costume merely serving as a "battery" and amplifier. Currently, Princeps Rex's powers are sustained by his own confidence and heritage, for he once was known as Arthur, King of the Britons. Thus, the more confident he is, the greater his powers are and vice versa.

Enhanced Physiology:

Due to being a trained master sorcerer and classified as Archimage-class, Princeps Rex is in tune with his body which allows him to perform magic without stress as well as enable him to quickly master combat. Although similar to that of a human without his magical power, he is capable of stepping into a heat source that was capable of frying a normal human without any discomfort. This enhanced physiology comes from both his parents, Uther Pendragon, the King of sub-Roman Britain; and the Lady Chian D'Arion, the Atlantean Lord of Order from before the sinking of Atlantis.

Interdimensional Energy Conduit:

His abilities are powered by interdimensional energies which are concentrated around the British Isles of each reality; moving too far away from the field will cause eventual power loss unless a power-enhancing costume is worn. For a time, all of his abilities were localized to Britain; if he went abroad for too long without wearing his costume, his powers eventually diminished to nothing. His costume acts as an antenna and battery, allowing him to retain his powers wherever he goes. When he and Thunderbird worked together the energies backfired and those that allowed him to retain his power within the Kingdom of England without his costume were dissipated. Hence, to retain his powers anywhere on Earth, he must wear the costume at all times. Merlyn Emrys recently granted Princeps Rex the ability to use his powers even without his suit. They are now based on his confidence. With greater confidence comes more power, and he weakens as his confidence does.

Dark Matter Empowerment: While empowered by Dark Matter, he can cast spells based on spoken incantations or the more powerful kinds that comes from the magical fires burning deep within those attached to Atlantean magics. At his prime from the usage of dark matter as a source, his power has been described to be almost limitless in capability by the likes of Onyx.

Flight: Princeps Rex can also channel the energies around him for the purpose of flying through the air at great speeds. At his peak, he is capable of surpassing the Speed of Sound (770 miles per hour). The force field that grants him his superhuman durability enables him to withstand the rigors of traveling at such high velocities would have on human tissue without harm, as well as allowing him to breathe normally.

Force Field: Princeps Rex is capable of producing force fields powerful enough to completely withstand the might of Superion's strength.

Power Absorption: Princeps Rex's mystical abilities stem from the usage of a source of power for magic, making him capable of absorbing various sorts of energies from any source such as fire or an earthquake. In his lifetime, he even created his own spell capable of siphoning sorcerous energies of others.

Psychic Powers: Princeps Rex possess natural psychic powers which act independently from his own magics.

Self-Sustenance - Size Alteration

Superhuman Agility: Princeps Rex's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Durability: While wearing his costume, Princeps Rex's body is surrounded by an invisible force field that renders him highly resistant to physical injury. The field allows him to sustain powerful energy blasts, great impact forces such as bazooka shells or being repeatedly struck by superhumanly strong opponents, temperature extremes, and falls from great heights without being injured. However, repeated impacts from sufficiently powerful forces or weaponry will weaken and, eventually, penetrate the field. The field's density, however, is specially designed to allow oxygen and light to pass through it. This force field is now sustained by his own confidence.

Superhuman Reflexes: Princeps Rex's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Senses: Princeps Rex can purposely draw upon the energies that give him his other powers to temporarily increase the efficiency of his senses, enhancing them to superhuman levels. He can see objects with perfect clarity at much greater distances than a normal human can. His hearing is similarly enhanced, allowing him to hear further than a human and to detect sounds normal humans can't.

Superhuman Stamina: Princeps Rex's advanced musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. At his peak, he can exert himself physically for about 24 hours before the build-up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him.

Superhuman Strength: Princeps Rex's strength is increased to high superhuman levels. At his peak, he is able to lift approximately 90 tons.

Telekinesis - Telepathy - Teleportation

Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced) : Princeps Rex was taught hand-to-hand combat by the likes of Lady Chian D'Arion (one of the two best fighters in ancient Atlantis) to combat his periods of lacking magical powers.

Leadership

Occultism: Trained by Lady Chian D'Arion in the art of magic, his millennia of practice and knowledge made him known as the greatest mage of ancient Atlantis and on par with Archimage but still seemingly less than Merlyn Emrys.

Swordsmanship: Trained by Sir Ector, King Lot and Merlyn Emrys himself, he is also an accomplished swordsman.

Uniform: Princeps Rex's uniform stores interdimensional energies, acting as a battery for when he is away from the matrix which surrounds the Kingdom of England. His costume has also at times been able to generate a protective force field (originally, this power came from his Staff) and a more recent version is also able to adopt a 'stealth mode' which helps him operate more unobtrusively. Though he no longer needs this costume for accessing magical energies, he still wears it as it acts like back-up battery.

Sword of Might: The Sword is an access point to tap into the mystical power of the land. It acts as a battery of mystical energy, supplying the user with near unlimited magical power. Another name for the Sword of Might is Excalibur.

When the Sword is bonded with another God-made Sword, its powers are further increased to an unknown level.

The Sword of Might is one of twelve God-made Swords on this plane of existence.

The Sword of Reaping, is owned by The Mummy.

The Sword of Spirit, is owned by Mālik.

The Sword of Doom, is owned by Surtrigon.

The Sword of Darkness is owned by Dark Guardian.

Confidence: Currently, Princeps Rex's powers are based on his own confidence. The more he believes in himself and what he is doing, the stronger he is, and the less susceptible to damage he becomes. Formerly, Princeps Rex's powers were dependent upon his costume. If he was not wearing it, then he could not gain access to the interdimensional energies that granted him his powers. Also, though the force field protects him from conventional physical injury, it does leave him vulnerable to attack from "knock out" gases as they can pass through his force field as easily as oxygen can.

Sibling: In 2043, Princeps Rex visited another Earth and met his twin brother, who was taken to Earth-616 when he was born centuries before, and who has become a hero known as Captain Avalon.

What's In A Name: His new name "Princeps Rex" translates as "First King".
