History

Written by: Joshua W. Murcray

When a spell, cast on a poisonous spider, was put in place to kill Gwendolyn Maxine "Max" Goracy, when it bit her the venom instead reacted with the medical equipment and drugs she was taking for rehabilitation of her injured spine, and gave her augmented abilities and freedom of movement.

Powers

Spider Physiology:

Max's powers are similar to those of Muraña after a magically altered spider -- spelled by Melltithio -- bit her, granting superhuman strength, speed, toughened flesh, and numerous arachnid-like abilities.
Her powers included:

Spider-Sense: Max has a sixth sense that typically alerts her to danger, although it has proven unreliable. This was most likely due to the damage sustained by the web of life and destiny, rather than a relative weakness of the power when compared to other spider totems.

Superhuman Agility: Max's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Durability: Max's body is physically tougher and more resistant to some types of injury than the body of a normal human. Her body is more resistant to impact forces than anything else. She can withstand great impacts, such as falling from a height of several stories or being struck by an opponent with super strength, that would severely injure or kill a normal human with little to no discomfort.

Superhuman Equilibrium: Max possesses the ability to achieve a state of perfect equilibrium in any position imaginable. She seems able to adjust her position by instinct, which enables her to balance herself on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow.

Superhuman Reflexes: Max's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are possibly about 40 times greater than those of an ordinary human. In combination with her spider-sense, the speed of her reflexes allows her to dodge almost any attack, even gun fire if far enough.

Superhuman Speed: Max is capable of running and moving at speeds that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Stamina: Max's advanced musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than an ordinary human. This allows her to exert herself physically for much longer periods of time before fatigue begins to impair her.

Superhuman Strength: Max possesses superhuman strength enabling her to press lift approximately ten tons.

Wall-Crawling: Max's exposure to the bespelled spider venom induced a meta-mutagenic, cerebellum-wide alteration of her engrams resulting in the ability to mentally control the flux of interatomic attraction (electrostatic force) between molecular boundary layers. This overcomes the outer electron shell's normal behavior of mutual repulsion with other outer electron shells and permits the tremendous potential for electron attraction to prevail. The mentally controlled sub-atomic particle responsible for this has yet to be identified. This ability to affect the attraction between surfaces is so far limited to Max's body (especially concentrated in her hands and feet) and another object, with an upper limit of several tons per finger.

Abilities

Computer Hacking: Max is an expert computer hacker. With her computer hacking skills, she is able to breach the highest security systems. Her skills are rivaled by none. Even the hacker, W🗲red, is a huge fan of hers.

Eidetic Memory

Genius Level Intellect: Max is shown to have a naturally high intelligence.

Investigation

Law: Max took a correspondence course in law obtaining a Juris Doctor degree which allowed her to sit for a state's bar exam, leading to a license to practice law. After getting the basic degree, she took an extension course in Harvard University, earning a Master Degree of Laws.

Martial Arts: Max is a trained martial artist. She was trained by Kung Fu master The Silent Dragon who helped Max hone her martial prowess during a time when he too was using a wheelchair. So far she has received basic training in the following martial arts:

Paraphernalia

Cowl Lenses: As Fibre, Max could press a button on her cowl which put various lenses over her eyes. She had a clear lens, a telescopic-vision lens, a microscopic-vision lens, a thermal lens, and a multi-light tracer lens.

Smartphone: Max's phone "contains her entire life."

Ticket to the Multiverse: With the help of her Earth-65 and New Earth counterparts, Max can travel between dimensions with a pendant that is essentially a modified Dimensional Travel Watch that is specifically keyed to her body's unique radiation signature. It can also be worn as a bracelet. Her bouncing back-n-forth between dimensions has caused some confrontations with Cosmos as he strives to maintain the balance in the multiverse.

Utility Belt: As Fibre, her equipment includes boomerangs, smoke bombs, a grappling hook, and some other gadgets.

Web-Shooters: Given to Fibre by Warhawk. A bit of Shi'tha'nar'ian tech, they trap moisture from the air to create a "web-fluid" that allows her to eject web ropes, nets, and globs.

Weaknesses

Restricted Mobility: Max was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot by The Huntsman, and uses a wheelchair when not Fibre. While she does not truly need it, she uses it to keep her vigilante identity secret, but also because someone who is paralyzed should not look like their legs are filling out with muscles.
