Born in the City of Orlando in the Florida Protectorate of the United Protectorates of North America, young Benjamin was kidnapped as a toddler from his baby stroller when his mother was distracted by one of the kidnappers. Sold on the black market for a high price due to his hair color, he was being transported to the capital of the Egyptian Conglomerate of Nations when the caravan was attacked by The Pack, the secret police from the Kingdom of B'Washenga who are responsible for imprisoning, torturing, and exterminating the domestic and external political enemies of the Kingdom of B'Washenga.

The Pack had received intelligence that the caravan was being personally overseen by a traitor to the country, but he had managed to slip away at the last refueling and was not there when The Pack arrived.

Taking the children back to their country, the government did their best to find the parents of the children in order to return them. However, in Benjamin's case, his parents had died in a protest rally when they were walking home from the store, turned the corner, and came across a throng of protestors. The police were firing rubber bullets into the crowd. One of them had struck Ben's dad in the eye. He fell and his wife tried to help him up, but then real bullets started flying and the crowd panicked. Husband and wife were trampled to death.

Back in the Kingdom of B'Washenga, Bēnijamīni Ādanyi, as he is now known, has been adopted by the king and made adopted brother of G'Challa. The two of them grew up together, sparred together, and were true brothers in all but blood. Even then, the night before Bēnijamīni took the oaths to join The Pack, the brothers made a pact, cutting their palms, and becoming blood-brothers, loyal to each other, even after death.

Today, G'Challa has become the king of B'Washenga and Bēnijamīni Ādanyi is leader of The Pack. Now, only the king calls him by his given name. All others know him as the Grey Jackal.

The Grey Jackal possesses no superhuman powers but is a renowned master martial artist with lightning-fast reflexes and great strength. He has bested notable martial artists such as Vigilante and fought The Silent Dragon to a standstill. He is on the fighting level of Lady Khaalida, who acknowledges and respects his skills. The Pack Armored Uniform:

The Grey Jackal employs the standard equipment of a member of The Pack which are the following:

Nthbranium Microweave Mesh: In his Grey Jackal armor, the microweave robs incoming objects of their momentum; bullets do not ricochet off but simply fall to the ground when they encounter the weave. Likewise, the Grey Jackal cannot be stabbed; however, the armor mesh (and the person inside) can be cut if the attacker slashes along the uniform's grain.

Cloaking Technology: The Grey Jackal's armored uniform is equipped with advanced cloaking technology which can alter its appearance. He primarily uses this feature to render himself invisible. Unlike other members of The Pack, the cloaking technology in the Grey Jackal's uniform also allows him to make it appear to be an ordinary business suit.

Energy-Dampening Boots: Energy regulators create varying fields from the Nthbranium in the molded soles of the boots, enabling Grey Jackal to survive a fall of several stories and land like a cat. Given enough momentum, the Grey Jackal can also run up walls or skim across water. The field can be also used offensively to shatter or weaken objects.

Energy Claws: As head of The Pack, the Grey Jackal has armored gauntlets built into his suit that are able to project claws made of energy. These short Energy Claws can cut through nearly all known substances and can even damage and, over time, even heat up and melt Nthbranium.
