Running a business that centers around disease control, genetic manipulation, and has contracts with several governments can be taxing and highly demanding. Especially when you are not starting from scratch. After purchasing Wayne Industries from Francis Wayne some years ago, the company seemed to finally be on its way to recovering from the years of improper management while waiting for Wayne to grow up and take the reins. But he did not take the company and now Thomas owned it.

But expecting results and getting them are two different things. So to push the envelope you have to push your employees. That is exactly what he did and it resulted in his head scientist injecting himself with the test serum being developed for the military to improve night vision, hearing, and agility in soldiers. The serum worked far more than even he believed, and Pietro Kaine became altered. Though Thomas kept the fact he knew what happened a secret...for now.

But he was intrigued by what had been accomplished and began to work in his private laboratory on creating a similar serum, but this time based on his favorite bird, the owl. And it worked! Taking on the name, Strix, after the legendary vampiric owl-monster, Thomas has gained the very essence of a night predator, and the natural enemy of the bat.

Thanks to the chemical composition of the Owl Formula, Thomas Osborn IV gained the following abilities:

Regenerative Healing Factor: If Thomas does sustain injury, his body's increased metabolism allows him to heal damaged tissue much faster and more extensively than a normal human is capable of. While not nearly as efficient as the healing powers possessed by Trident, Deadrun or Lady Robinpool, he can heal from injuries that would prove lethal to an ordinary human.

Superhuman Agility: Thomas's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Durability: The formula also fortified all of Thomas's bodily tissues, making them far tougher and more resistant to injury than normal humans. While Thomas can be injured by something along the lines of a knife or small conventional bullets composed of conventional material, he is very resistant to great impact forces and blunt trauma. He can withstand powerful impacts, such as falling from several stories or being repeatedly struck by a superhuman enemy, that would severely injure or kill a normal human with little to no injury to himself.

Superhuman Reflexes: His reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Speed: Thomas can run and operate at superhuman speeds.

Superhuman Stamina: Thomas can operate or maintain his movements for up to a day without exhausting himself.

Superhuman Strength: Thomas can easily overpower humans by lifting them up with one hand or by hurling them around. He can also lift extremely heavy objects, crush and break through wood panels and templates, bend metal, and can punch through glass without gaining injury.
