He can generate from his body a bright, white light equivalent at maximum intensity to half million-foot candles. He does so by varying the rate of acceleration of the molecules of his body out of phase with one another, thereby generating a cascade of photonic discharges.

Accelerated Metabolism: He possesses a boosted metabolism that can be used to heal wounds quickly.

Calming Light: He can send out a calming light that the target feels emotions and memories that make them at peace. It can even be used to break telepathic control. This is like an ability that Aurora has and may hint at a connection.

Concussive Blasts: He can send out powerful concussive blasts that can do considerable damage. He can project these from his hand and out from his body in a series of concussive bursts.

Durability: LIMITED REGENERATION: As a side effect of partially robbing his molecules of their atomic motion, the binding forces within and between the molecules increase. This enhances the sheer toughness of his entire body. This effect gives his skin enough durability to withstand the ravages of wind, friction and air turbulence.

Flight Speed: ORBITAL VELOCITY: He can propel himself through the air. To hover in mid-air Scarab applies thrust downward in a carefully controlled manner. When carrying another, unprotected human being aloft, Scarab does not move faster than 60 miles per hour in order that his "passenger" may be able to breathe easily (Scarab himself can breathe at somewhat higher rates due to training) and will not suffer harm from wind, friction, or air turbulence.

G-Force Compensation: He has the ability to use his super speed to automatically compensate for any G-Force difference.

Reflexes: ENHANCED: He possesses reflexes far above the average human. Reflexes are so advanced that he can go through an entire apartment, checking all the rooms and taking out the survivors in just mere seconds.

Invisibility to Technological Detection: It has been claimed that Scarab is undetectable to gene-scan devices that look for meta-mutants, like those built into Hunters.

Lightning: He can project lighting blasts with devastating results.

Molecular Acceleration: He can accelerate the molecules within an inanimate object or a living being by touch, causing the target to tear itself apart from the subsequent stress generated upon it.

Land Speed: ORBITAL VELOCITY: He possesses the ability to propel his body at superhuman speed, becoming a living projectile. Through an act of concentration, Scarab can channel a portion of the kinetic energy of the atomic motion in his body's molecules in a single direction. This can accelerate his body in a velocity in direct proportions to the amount of kinetic energy he has tapped. It was once theoretically possible for him to reach 99% of the speed of light (186,272 miles per second in a vacuum), although he never traveled at anywhere near that speed since if he did, he would wreak great damage upon himself and his environment. Scarab can also move a portion of his body at superhuman speed. His speed does not seem to have any connection to the Bowen Force.

Gadgetry: Rivaling Vigilante's inventive mind, Jean-Kord was the creator of many inventions and crime-fighting technologies, like his solar-powered "Bug" suit, BB gun, and much more. He also runs a company, Marbier Industries, which produces hundreds of new technologies. All non-lethal.

Acrobatics: Scarab is an accomplished acrobat, who more often than not, utilizes this greatly into his hand-to-hand fighting style. He is also a skilled trapeze artist.

Fighting Skills: EXPERT: He studied with several martial arts masters, and can outfight just about any group of thugs or criminals with his fighting skills alone.

Computer Hacking: When he was 13 years old, he hacked into the UPNA Defense servers.

Skier: Scarab is a world-class professional skier.

Business: He has successfully run his own multi-national business and is the largest provider of non-lethal gadgets among law enforcement.

Writer: He is an accomplished novelist.

Multilingual: He speaks his native tongue of English, but has also become fluent in French (both standard French and Québécois), Belgian and Dutch.

Baby-Bugs/Snoopies: Small bug-shaped flying surveillance drones used for spying or for hazardous areas e.g. radiation zones.

Costume: Scarab's costume includes a special locking mechanism for his mask that engages or disengages when he touches it with a special microchip in the fingertip of his glove. Thus any attempt to unmask him against his will without knowing of that mechanism would require forcefully cutting or tearing at the mask's material. His suit is bullet-proof, fire-proof, waterproof, and is able to lets him walk through Chornóbyl' for up to two hours before the radiation can no longer be repelled by the suit. The suits systems are all solar-powered and can also harness the energy from his movements. When moving at top speed, the suit is able to absorb the friction of the air and store it for later use.

_____Pincer Shields: On his forearms, his costume comes equipped with retractable pincer shields. With a thought they can extend out to puncture through walls or some metal barriers. Then, on command, they can expand flat, becoming a shield to ward off attack.

Too Fast: Scarab has claimed to be able to move faster than the speed of light, and also claimed that if he did move at these speeds it would kill him, as his body is unable to cope with the forces that would be applied against it.

Speed Theory: Scarab's speed does not work by grounded methods, only by flight or forms of kinetic energy propelling him from touching solid grounds. This allows him to move parts of his body, air run, or even swim at super speed.

Net Worth: Due to his success in business, Jean-Kord Marbier is currently valued at $3 billion.

Secret Spending: Secretly, Scarab donates just enough money, through different channels, to keep the juvenile detention center that his brother, Jean-Marc works at, operational.
