In one of those odd twists of fate, Jennifer Queche was conducting a seance with the intention to ask the spirits to punish her ex-husband, Nicholas Queche, for his evil ways and for leaving her alone and with nothing. She had just made contact with the Spirit of Retribution, who had been waiting for her since her ancestor had managed to separate himself from the Spirit, when one of the rocks in the fire cracked open, revealing a small chunk of the Starcell asteroid that had struck the planet a millenia ago.

Infused with the Spirit of Retribution, Jennifer reached into the fire to take up the Starcell and immediately was merged with it and the Spirit.

More shocking was the realization the Starcell was semi-sentient and seeking other pieces of the Starcell. To this end the Starcell-Spirit of Retribution has a driving desire to seek vengeance on Angãraka, but cannot as he is not technically alive and therefore cannot be punished. And since he is not alive, neither the Starcell nor Spirit can take back the Starcell piece that powers Angãraka.

Instead, Retribution, making peace with Angãraka, now seeks out other lost pieces while enacting punishment on the wicked and handing out retribution to those who practice evil.

Spiritual Transformation:

Jennifer possesses the supernatural ability to transform into Retribution at will, initially due to being indwelled by the Spirit of Retribution. She has control over her transformations and can transform through an act of will or when innocent blood is spilled.

External Force Immunity: Recently, as Retribution, Jennifer demonstrated immunity to any kind of force that can affect her body and everything she has, and may go through a force field without being affected.

Hellfire Manipulation: As Retribution, Jennifer possesses the ability to generate, control, and project mystical fire, or "hellfire" at will. Hellfire is an empyreal and supernatural flame that burns the soul of a person and can be used to burn their physical body. She can utilize this fire in various ways, including projecting it from her eyes, hands, mouth, or even channel it from her body into other weapons like her shotgun, form walls of hellfire, and even create a motorcycle completely out of hellfire.

Mystical Chain Projection: As Retribution, Jennifer wields a mystical chain that is capable of growing in length, cutting through almost anything, and transforming into other weapons. She can also spew and project chains from her mouth or chest at will.

Penance Stare: As Retribution, Jennifer possesses the supernatural ability to cause any individual who stares into her eyes to see and feel every bit of pain they have ever inflicted on anyone in their entire lifetime.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite her high resistance to damage and harm while she is transformed into Retribution, Jennifer can still sustain damage and/or harm. However, the mystical energies of the Spirit of Retribution enable her to rapidly heal any damage and/or harm rapidly faster, greater and better than any ordinary human being is capable of. Her regenerative powers allow her to regenerate in a matter of moments/seconds depending on the damage and/or harm.

Superhuman Durability: While transformed into Retribution, Jennifer's body is highly resistant to physical injury. She is capable of withstanding great impact forces, temperature and pressure extremes, powerful energy blasts, high caliber bullets, and falls from great heights without sustaining injury.

Superhuman Stamina: The mystical energy that empowers Retribution prevents her muscles from producing fatigue toxins during physical activities. As a result, while transformed into Retribution, Jennifer possessed limitless superhuman stamina in all physical activities.

Superhuman Strength: As Retribution, Jennifer possesses superhuman strength sufficient to lift about 10 tons.

Starcell Empowerment:

Jennifer can control the mystical power of the Starcell. She has extensive energy manipulation powers able to affect gravity, radiation, heat and light in a large number of ways.

Alcoholism: Jennifer began drinking a lot of alcohol due to the accumulation of traumatic events in her life.

Penance Stare Limitations: The Penance Stare can not affect victims if they are blind, on drugs, have no soul, or are bonded to a parasite. Using the Penance Stare on anyone who is blind, on drugs, has no soul, or is bonded to a parasite will incapacitate her, at times rendering her unconscious or in a death-like state. The same thing happens if she uses the Penance Stare on someone or something with more than two eyes. The Penance Stare also seems to have little effect on those who are mentally unstable, such as Lady Robinpool or Jester.

Retribution Addiction: Jennifer became addicted to the power of the Spirit of Retribution, making her easily manipulated when offered access to the power again should she ever lose it.

Wood Flaw: Her energy is ineffective against wood. Items made of wood cannot be lifted or broken by energy from the Starcell nor can barriers of emerald energy stop projectiles crafted from wood. By extension, things made of plant-matter could potentially disrupt her power.
