History

Written by: Joshua W. Murcray

As a convict, Zhān worked at the prison's mirror factory, where he accidentally mixed in the wrong chemical for a mirror. Even though his foreman told him to throw it out, Zhān discovered the mirror seemed to have developed special properties. He studied the mirror and learned how to create mirrors that could create a variety of effects.

Zhān devised a costume and named himself Decoy. He used a mirror to create duplicates of other people to commit crimes for him, thus creating the world's first atomic mirror. Deadrun investigated these crimes and defeated Decoy.

Through his research, Decoy discovered the existence of a Mirror World, accessible only by being reflected through several mirrors aligned at particular angles. He escaped prison by traveling there, where he met the telepathic Organians, who were fascinated by his ability to create mirrors. Unhappy because they gave him everything he wanted rather than being able to steal it, he lured Deadrun to the dimension, hoping the speedster could transport him home. His plan was successful, but Deadrun just put him right back in prison.

He has since escaped...again.

Reflective Duplication:

Decoy creates an identical physical living reflection of himself upon passing any mirror, possibly via extra-dimensional mass acquisition. It is not yet known how he does this. An example of this is in the image above. Each one of those reflections is him. Although he can create multiple reflections, and the reflections themselves can also replicate, each is only able to create one reflection at a time; he has been seen to produce around forty reflections before no more would be created. The reflections think, feel, and act independently, though usually guided by the original. Each tends to manifest one aspect of Decoy's personality, which increases in strength with lengthier separation from the original. Decoy is telepathically and empathically linked to his reflections, suffering severe, potentially fatal, trauma if one dies and also allowing him to track them to a general area by concentrating. If Decoy himself were killed, any existing reflections would cease to function. It is virtually impossible to distinguish the original from the reflections. His powers have increased during his life. He can now create hundreds of reflections by himself. Decoy was able to merge himself into the home-dimension of the reflections, and to come back without the reflection that absorbed him walking in front of a mirror.

Reflection Absorption: The original Decoy can absorb them back into himself at will, at the same time absorbing the memories, skills, and experiences of the reflection. The only limit to this power is he can not absorb a dead reflection.

Reflection Experience Transference: When Decoy merges back, he retains memories (albeit somewhat imperfect), knowledge, and experiences of the reflection. Decoy does not have to absorb his reflections to absorb information from them, he automatically absorbs information from any of his reflections if it kills itself.

Reflection Healing: He also uses merging as a form of healing - uninjured reflections "shared" the damage when they reemerged (e.g., if an injured reflection merged with an uninjured Decoy, the resulting Decoy had an injury half as severe as the original injury).

Abilities

Disguise: Decoy has altered his appearance through use of his gimmick mirrors to fool others on multiple occasions.

Fighting Skills: Peak Human: Similar to a professional competitor in a single form of combat.

Thievery

Well-Educated: Decoy has acquired extensive knowledge and skills via his reflections' experiences, such as human anatomy, speaking Russian, and Shaolin monk stealth techniques. He also has hand to hand combat training, learned from a reflection who studied martial arts. Decoy is a certified lawyer, has medical and gymnastic training, and can pick locks.

Paraphernalia

Mirror Pack: Decoy wears a utility belt with each pouch carefully containing a specialized mirror for different purposes.

Reflective Dampening Suit: Decoy wears a suit that bends light in such a way as to not cast a clear reflection thereby preventing reflections to pop out of mirrors at the wrong time. With a push of a button he can deactivate the suit, allowing him to once again create reflections in any mirrored surface.

Weapons

Atomic Mirror Gun: Decoy invented a gun that can transfer matter waves. Basically a hand-held transporter device, that he can even use to turn people into flat shards of mirror glass with the gun, as well as reverse the process and return the person to a normal state. If this mirror is destroyed while people are in the reflective mirror, the people inside of the mirror die. Whenever something leaves the dimension via the Mirror Lands, a residue of glass and silver is left behind. At the guns widest beam setting he can cause a reflective surface to replay the events it has witnessed in the past day by using "reflective surfaces to take photon impressions and expand them into the visible spectrum."
