History
Written by: Joshua W. Murcray

It was raining in the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in the Orange Free State of Republiek van Suid-Afrika on the day Ch'gr Ma'od was changed forever. He had landed on Eden in an escape pod just one day before and had spent most of his time assessing damages and trying to call for help. Thankfully, he had landed near a river-bed that was covered in shade. The sun felt good, but too much and he might dehydrate.

The day after landing, the Great Burn swept across the globe and triggered a gene in his body that caused him to regrow lost organs and limbs. But since he was completely healthy, the gene caused the Meta-Mutant gland to grow and activate.

Ch'gr Ma'od - Art by phil-cho

Ch'gr Ma'od suddenly found his entire body shifting and changing and growing. Back on the generational ship he has escaped from, Ch'gr Ma'od was just a young Psaurion who loved following the current trends of Eden societies. He was a scrawny little lizard with a knack for hijinks and Eden sports.

But then their generational ship was hit by space debris that somehow missed their deflectors and all hands had to abandon ship. Ch'gr Ma'od could not get to the transports in time and was forced to take an escape pod. And, while the transport was able to begin the long trek back to the home planet, Ch'gr Ma'od landed on Eden, where he thought he would be stuck forever.

Today, thanks to his new powers, Ch'gr Ma'od is able to travel back-n-forth to his home planet with relative ease while also traveling with the Omega Guardians.

Psaurion Physiology

Ch'gr Ma'od's amphibious physiology grants him a number of superhuman attributes.

Durability:: Ch'gr Ma'od's scaly hide offers him a higher degree of protection from physical injury than a human being. He is capable of withstanding powerful impact forces and small-caliber bullets without sustaining injury. He was almost impervious to torture while under Shi'tha'nar'ian captivity.

Poisonous Blood: Psaurions possess a deadly neurotoxin in their bloodstream to protect them from predators.

Speed: Land: Despite his great size and bulk, Ch'gr Ma'od is capable of running and moving at speeds greater than even the finest human athlete.

Speed: Water: Ch'gr Ma'od is capable of swimming through water at much greater speeds than even the finest, non-enhanced, human athlete. He can reach a top speed of about 50 knots per hour.

Stamina:: Ch'gr Ma'od's musculature generates less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a human being. He can exert himself at peak capacity for several hours before fatigue begins to impair him.

Strength: Ch'gr Ma'od is superhumanly strong and is capable of lifting about 20 tons.

Underwater Breathing: Ch'gr Ma'od is fully amphibious and is capable of surviving both on land and in the water with equal ease due to the fact that he possesses lungs that allow him to breathe on land and gills that enable him to breathe underwater.

Meta-Mutant Abilities

Ch'gr Ma'od is, perhaps, the only known case of an alien having a meta-mutant gland activation. This opens a whole new mystery over how an alien species could have a gland that was believed to only exist in humans. This new phenomena allows Ch'gr Ma'od the following abilities:

Telepathy: Ch'gr Ma'od has limited telepathic abilities.

_____Telepathic Immunity: : Ch'gr Ma'od's Psaurion brain enables him to "barely feel" a telepathic assault that had the entire Spectrum Corps. bleeding from the eyes and nose.

Teleportation: Ch'gr Ma'od can open portals in space to which others can transport through.

Weaknesses

Willpower: The strength of Ch'gr's power is determined by his willpower, which affects the intensity of his powers, the volume of created objects, etc. Ch'gr must focus to keep all effects in use and must divide the energy between all these.

Mental Instability: Drug use, neural interference, vertigo or other forms of mental incapacitation can render Ch'gr unable to use his powers.

Vibrational Interference: If a vibration from a device is set to a certain speed, it causes Ch'gr to reduce in power, including a reduction in size and stability of any energy constructs, so that if Ch'gr wanted to make energy-hands to grab something, the hands would be too small to grab it.

Equipment

Transportation: The starship Jammilano.

Turtle Shell: One peculiarity of his meta-mutant change was when his spine grew out of his back and formed a "turtle shell-like" solid bone shield on his back. It is spiky and round and is tough enough to take a tank mortar at point-blank. It does not impair his movements or speed, and it cannot be removed, making it a permanent shield to attacks from behind.

Weapons

Multiple: He wields a variety of extraterrestrial weapons including energy rifles, swords and battle-axes.
