The Soulless are clones housing within them the trapped, brainwashed souls of the dead that Grim Reaper has collected over time.

The souls of those that had not chosen an afterlife, were gathered and spiritually blocked from remembering their living selves. Their spirit was then used to animate the cloned body of a bioengineered slave/soldier to serve Grim Reaper.

It is somewhat ironic that the only way to free the souls is to kill their bodies. However, because they are the spirits of those who rejected Heaven and are not bad enough for Hell, their spirits can be recaptured by Grim Reaper once more, if he is quick enough.

It is unknown what happens to the spirits who manage to be released and not recaptured.

Wing Blades: A Soulless' avian features are razor sharp, cutting and piercing with a refined edge.
