Though he wasn't a very good one, Paitrik was a clown. Not only did he do kids parties, but he also moonlighted as a rodeo clown whenever he could. One afternoon, he was on his way back to the apartment he shared with his girlfriend, when he stumbled upon a bank robbery in progress...with the robbers all dressed as clowns. Startling them, they all stopped to stare at him when the tension was broken by the red and blue lights of the police showing up. The robbers immediately pointed at Paitrik and yelled, "He's the boss!" and then ran away into the night, leaving Paitrik to face the police. Scared and uncertain what to do, Paitrik ran as well!

Running down an alley, he ducked into an old warehouse. Stumbling in the dark, looking for a backdoor, Paitrik opened a door only to fall down the shaft of an old elevator. Hitting the bottom, several of his bones broke on impact with multiple lacerations. Slowly he stood up and turned towards another door where light seemed to emanate, along with a loud humming. Opening the door, he was blinded by the light, as he stumbled forward.

The humming grew louder as he moved forward, so it took a minute before he realized that someone was shouting at him. Turning toward the voices, he took one more step forward only to hit a glass half-wall causing him to tumble over it and down into a large vat.

Unbeknownst to him, he had stumbled into a laboratory that was creating a new liquid sand made of silicon that could be electrically manipulated into different forms and could be used in construction.

Sinking into the vat, deeper and deeper, the vat was suddenly inundated with electricity and a blinding light.

It seemed like hours but only a few seconds later, the humming began to die, the electricity stopped, and the light dimmed. Security and lab personnel rushed to the vat, but immediately stopped as the vat began to shake and the sides began to crack and split, bursting open, pouring crystallized silicates onto the lab floor. The sand began to shift, and morph and a face and body began to form.

Raging in confusion, Paitrik, now sentient silicon, flowed across the lab, bursting through the doors leading to the stairs heading up. Faster than security could run, Paitrik crushed the doors leading out onto the street, heading out of the city as fast as he could.

After days out in the open lands, Paitrik learned his new body and was able to return to the city looking as much like himself as possible.

Taking on the name, Krtrim, Paitrik now secretly roams as a sandstorm through his city, protecting the women and children from the abuses of the street gangs. And, on occasion, he will take a little something for himself from the gangs' money stashes. After all, he feels he deserves a little something for his troubles. While this does not sit well with The T.I.T.A.N.S. they still call upon him as a member of their Reserves

Extreme Temperature: His semi-liquid form remains stable at relatively high and low temperatures...provided that the temperature change is gradual. A sudden change, induces a complete change of phase, creating a truly solid or truly liquid form.
