The elder half-brother of Донна Йонду (Donna Yondu), young Джо϶еϕ Худ (Dzhozef Khud) was also the illegitimate son of wealthy Russian socialite Ольга Бьюкенен (Ol'ga B'yukenen), though his father was a respected government official named Питер Худ (Piter Khud). Ol'ga and Piter eventually married for a time after Dzhozef's birth, but the two divorced after Донна Йонду's's birth. After his parents' divorce, Dzhozef became an outsider as much as Donna, and the two became close, though Piter would occasionally exercise his custodial rights and the two would often be separated for months at a time. Piter was a violent and abusive man and would have a powerful effect on his life later.

After The Great Burn, Dzhozef, like his half-sister, joined the Army, but while he lacked Donna's sense for tracking and stealth, he shared her marksmanship and endurance and therefore ascended into the Russian Strike Force, an elite group of soldiers, who went into especially dangerous missions, regardless of whether the target was Burned or not. He and his half-sister would occasionally work side by side if the target was, in fact, Burned. However, after Donna went MIA, Dzhozef became more erratic and violent, often disobeying orders and causing civilian casualties in the line of duty. However, he could stay in the service because he was willing to do missions others would not. Approximately a year after Donna's disappearance, Dzhozef was sent on a mission that currently has no details available to the outside world.

When he resurfaced eight months after that, he had taken a different name, Τодд Барнс (Todd Barns), a bionic arm, and appeared to have no memory of his life prior to that time. His superiors named him Красная зима (Krasnaya Zima aka The Red Winter). His identity as Dzhozef Khud is only known because he and Reyndzher crossed paths after she stopped his attempted assassination of a prominent German official under a mercenary contract. After fighting to a stalemate, Krasnaya Zima fled and Reyndzher dispelled these details to The T.I.T.A.N.S.

Krasnaya Zima eventually turned himself in, curiosity getting the better of him and Reyndzher told his story as she knew it. Though he still has no actual memory beyond periodic flashes, he has come to trust in this knowledge after doing his own research. However, he rejects the formal and as he describes "stifling" responsibilities of full T.I.T.A.N.S. membership and his violent nature have led some to question whether he should even be a member of The T.I.T.A.N.S. at all, even the Reserves. Nonetheless, his newfound loyalty to his half-sister and his strong sense of justice means he will come if called. He is sometimes seen aiding Vigilante when both are operating outside of The T.I.T.A.N.S.. For now, he continues to work with the Russian Syndicate in rebuilding the nation.

Bionic Arm: Superhuman Strength, Sensor Array, Extended Reach, Electrical Discharge (EMP).

Red Winter Costume: Krasnaya Zima wears a red "star" mask, fixed in place with spirit gum, and includes a built-in radio transmitter/receiver and Hydra-lite night-vision lenses. His gauntlets and boots each contain eight compartments in which he can store items. The body armor itself is far more militaristic, with heavier body armor of red and black.

Utility Belt: Carries throwing darts, grappling hooks, gas pellets and assorted lethal weapons.
