My initial feelings on this movie can be summed up in what I posted before:
All Marvel fans need to see it. It was a perfect blend of Jason Bourne and Marvel. The casting was perfect, the storyline was intriguing and entertaining, and there was plenty of humor to make this different from any Mission Impossible-Kingsman-007 movie. Watch the movie.
Enjoy a well done strong female lead character movie.
Ten years in the making and Avengers: Endgame did not disappoint. Well, at least not when considering story and acting. I'll get to continuity and overall timeline later. Not right now as that will get too much into spoilers. For now, and because I'm going to try my hardest to write all this without spoilers, let me just say that, overall, this movie was quite literally THE BEST Marvel movie ever made!
Now we come to the saddest part of my blog...discussing the possibilities of characters dying. And, if you've been paying attention to the news, you know that this is not just a possibility but a fact. Several characters will die!
Some fun theories and my thoughts on them. Star-Lord And Iron Man Share Some Tech? Hawkeye Is Actually Ronin In Infinity War. Agent Coulson Rejoins The Avengers. Captain America Will Receive A Fancy New Weapon To Combat The Mad Titan. The Marvel Cinematic Universe As We Know It Will End.
I've been debating writing this post for a while as I don't want to ruin things for people...if my theories are right, but many of my readers have asked me to post my thoughts so...here I go. Before I get into the theories of who is going to die in Avengers: Infinity War, allow me to first take some time to address the theories of the location of the last Infinity Stone, the Soul Gem. As many of you know, I wrote an article about my theories of the Infinity Stones and where they will be. And they were really good theories. They just were wrong....
I've been trying to think of a cool way to start this movie review and I have to say I'm still drawing a blank. So let me just start with the IMDB short description of the movie: T'Challa, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. OR After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader....
Spider-Man: Homecoming is the latest attempt at making a decent Spider-Man movie but this time we actually came REALLY close. Mainly because Marvel made a deal with Sony and got the temporary rights to Spider-Man back...at least for a couple of movies. Tom Holland, who plays the young Sophomore in high school Peter Parker, does a remarkable job portraying the excitement and wonder of a high schooler when he gets his abilities AND meets the Avengers. As most teenagers he also wants more. He wants the spotlight, the fame, the being a part of something special....
Let’s begin with the easy stuff. Doctor Strange delivers on almost everything you want in a Marvel movie. It’s got spectacular special effects, mesmerizing acting, and a riveting story line that keeps you wanting more throughout the whole movie. It even conveniently explained why the Avengers weren’t called in to help out. “While the Avengers guard the world from physical threats, we protect the world from more mystical dangers.” I watched this movie in IMAX 3D and I was not disappointed in how so freaking cool it looked! However, I would like to warn...
IF you are not familiar with the comic books and the different stories that have occurred in the comic book universe, then this movie could very well be confusing. There are multiple Easter Eggs in the movie that comic book fans would get, and love! We'll talk about them, but just know that IF you were confused with the movie and didn't understand why it was so "jumbled" then now you know, it's because of the Easter Eggs. Don't worries, I'll be explaining them so that you can go watch the movie again with a better understanding and ability to talk with other fans with confidence....
Let’s start at the beginning of the trailer and go from there. We see first that Captain America and Falcon have found and captured Winter Soldier. With Bucky’s arm pinned or magnetized to something so he can’t get away, Captain America asks him if Bucky remembers him. Bucky responds with two pieces of information that few, if anyone, knows...
Let's talk about the latest fiasco 20th Century Fox called a movie....Fantastic Four.
Oh, I'm sorry. I meant Fant4stic. That right there, in the title itself, is where the movie first started to lose it's fans. Oh sure, we could say it's a fun and unique way to say "Fantastic Four," or we could say, "uhm...what?"
Is it Fant Fourstic? Fant Four Stic? Yeah, confusion for kids right off the bat. Good job, marketing team...
The following review will lean heavily on the plot synopsis found HERE. It also contains TONS of Easter Eggs that I've either noticed or were found by others. In 1989, Hank Pym resigns from S.H.I.E.L.D. after realizing that Howard Stark had been trying to replicate his shrinking technology...
I hate reading critics reviews of movies before I read them. Heck, I hate reading any reviews of a movie before I've seen them. But that doesn't stop people from writing them and from posting them and from me seeing them on Facebook or Twitter. So I waited on this movie. Not because I didn't think it was going to be any good. No! I waited until I had time to not only watch it, but to also think on it and write about it...
I had the privilege to go to the Ultimate Marvel Marathon where they showed ALL 11 MOVIES IN A ROW!! I'm a little tired, since I was up for all 29 hours it took to go through them all, but it made me think that I need to do a GIANT MOVIE REVIEW...just for you...
Well they did it again! Marvel has released another trailer for the upcoming movie Avengers: Age of Ultron and, once again, not only does the music creep you out (and stick in your head) but it does more than excite the fans. It also mystifies them. That's right. This trailer did more to raise questions than all the other trailers combined...in my personal opinion. Before we get REALLY deep into the nit-picky, nitty-gritty, detail oriented, pick-it-apart discussion...let's watch the newest trailer together...
This is not going to be a brief post. I just want to jot down some thoughts of mine regarding the Infinity Gauntlet in comics compared to the one they are bringing to the MCU. I only just recently watched the Marvel Experience Live Event where they announced the upcoming movies. In the event they showed a clip of Thanos possessing the Gauntlet...
I have to say I went into the theater with something different expected. According to the previews the movie will be about an "innocent" girl who has a mind-expanding pack of drugs implanted in her abdomen. Yeah, I'm going to be talking a lot about the movie and what went on in it so if you haven't seen it and you don't want any spoilers I would HIGHLY suggest you not read any further....
Personally I don't like even typing out spoilers when the movie hasn't been out for a full 24-hours. Granted about a million people have probably already seen it, but let's not ruin it for them, hmm? So in this Movie Review I will do my best to not give away any spoilers...I'll save that post for Monday! And now...My Movie Review of...
I've been reading a lot of articles about Maleficent. Primarily because family and friends are reading them and telling me about how they may or may not see the movie because of those articles. Frankly I don't let anyone tell me what is a good movie and what isn't. Sure, some of my family and friends will let me know their thoughts, but nothing they say really will change my mind about whether or not to go see the movie....
To begin, this movie had just about everything you can hope for in a Transformers movie, but the best part, in my opinion, was the story. The movie is really long, clocking in at about 2 hours and 40 minutes. Personally I didn't mind as, to me, it meant more movie for my money. It takes a little while to get through the first half as the story is built up and a brief history of what has been going on since the last movie is explained....
Hopefully by now many of you have already seen this. If you have I welcome your thoughts on it in the Comments below. As for me, I loved it. First off, Angelina Jolie is one of the most beautiful and talented actresses in the world, in my own opinion. Her way of speech, her walk, even the way she tilts her head in this movie was exactly right for the part. Near the beginning her smile brought a glow to her character and made you happy for her....
Andrew Garfield as Spider-man is probably the best choice Sony could have made! His portrayal of the web-slinger was spot on in my opinion. His witty banter, wise-cracking, fast-talking style of handling the bad guys is EXACTLY as Spider-man is shown in the comics and to see him come to the big screen is a balm on the wounds caused by Sam Raimi’s Spider-man 3...
I recently watched the movie, Philomena, with my wife (yes, I know I’m behind the times) and I have to say I was NOT looking forward to it. I’m not a big fan of movies based on real-life events as they have a tendency to be sad, disheartening, and not at all an escape from reality. In fact, just the opposite. Movies like this will most certainly throw real-life in front of you, beat it with an ugly stick, and then, when it is up for an Academy Award, force you to be glad you spent your money on something that pissed you off or made you cry. Rarely have I seen one that made me cheer or be thankful I’m alive and thriving in this world....
