Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man is probably the best choice Sony could have made! His portrayal of the web-slinger was spot on in my opinion. His witty banter, wise-cracking, fast-talking style of handling the bad guys is EXACTLY as Spider-Man is shown in the comics and to see him come to the big screen is a balm on the wounds caused by Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3.

Emma Stone, who played Gwen Stacy, is not a side character...at least she isn't shown as one. Her love interest with Andrew/Peter was flawless and helped build the romance/story between the two in such a way as to feel believable.

Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, was one of the coolest, most awesome villains I have seen in a superhero movie in a LONG time! He not only owned that part and played it to perfection, he showed that Electro is not a stupid little pansy villain that comic book fans have thought of him. Nope, he's definitely someone you REALLY shouldn't mess with...EVER!

I'm not going to get into too much else as it gives a lot of spoilers, so let me add a few more notes before I sign off.

The special effects and style of filming didn't just give you some swinging through the trees kind of feel, but brought you into the Spidey-suit and made you feel like it was you swinging and falling and soaring and twisting through the streets of New York. And that was just Spider-Man!

Electro's powers were awe-inspiring and made fans in the audience gasp and cheer and oooh and aaahh. All that to say, if this is the kind of treatment Sony is giving to the heroes that they have control over...then I'm fine with that! This movie was amazing...and not just in the title.

  END CREDITS

Halfway through the end credits is the much hyped brief segment from the upcoming movie: X-Men: Days of Future Past. After that, there is nothing but credits. There isn't anything at the end of the credits. And if you don't care about the X-Men movie that much...then really there isn't anything to see once the List Credits start rolling. But go see the movie! You won't be disappointed...we weren't!
