Rasmus Grönes was a young man who was touring Olkiluodon ydinvoimalaitos before starting college when the first nuclear bomb hit CERN, triggering The Great Burn. The resulting wave swept across the planet and struck Suomen tasavalta just as another nuclear missile struck nearby.

Rasmus was running in fear with other tourists when the two wave fronts collided right ontop of him and the man running next to him. His name was Dr. Alvar Rötkö, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist. The two of them were merged into one being just as two waves merged, causing two minds and bodies to become one person...and on fire!

But there were two unforeseen catalysts! It turns out that Dr. Alvar Rötkö, as well as Rasmus Grönes, had Meta-Mutant glands. When the wave hit and the two of them merged, both of their meta-mutant heritages manifested.

Unfortunately, Dr. Alvar Rötkö's age meant his mind and body could not handle the shock of The Great Burn, a nuclear blast, and merging with a young college man, but his memories, experiences and knowledge were psychically grafted into the mind of Rasmus Grönes.

Today, Alvar Rasmus Rötgrön, who changed his name in honor of the older man who died in the merge, has is a student at Diakonia-ammattikorkeakoulu and now is an intern at the same nuclear power plant that has helped alter him.

Constitution: Superhuman: Atomic Storm can receive an increased amount of physical resistance and durability. They can survive bullets and stab wounds as well as the physical damage of exploding constantly.

Density Control: Atomic Storm has complete control over molecules and as such can change the density of solids, liquids and gases to as light as hydrogen or as heavy as uranium.

Energy Absorption: Atomic Storm can absorb massive amounts of energy as well as being able to absorb many different types of energy. Most commonly the elements and energies associated with life and the human body are absorbed. Also solar energy is a possible source of energy that can work as a "emergency battery" for Atomic Storm when out of power.

Energy Projection: Atomic Storm can project massive amounts of different amount of energies. Naturally occurring energy projected by Atomic Storm are "Nuclear Blasts" however Atomic Storm can project a number of different energies at will.

Enhanced Vision: Also called "Nuclear Vision", Atomic Storm has access to enhanced vision due to his nuclear nature. Different visions experienced are:

Molecular Reconstruction: Atomic Storm's "nuclear fusion" or "atomic nature" stem from nuclear physics tempering with his mixture of psychic energies as well as physical properties. Atomic Storm can break down and reapply subatomic particles as well as break up the molecular structure of elements and rearrange them. To do this Atomic Storm must know the exact elemental make-up of the object or human. Atomic Storm cannot affect living tissue.

Phasing: Atomic Storm can phase their bodies through solid objects. Although he has direct control over an object's density he can use this ability on himself and only himself and affect living tissue to pass through objects.

Psychic Link: Sometimes called "floating heads", Rasmus Grönes can see the head of Dr. Alvar Rötkö appear mostly as a floating head to represent their psychic link to the each other human.

Regeneration: Though a majorly untested power as well as being as much a reaction from shape-shifting and a direct result of molecular reconstruction; nonetheless, Atomic Storm can regenerate large sections of misplaced or destroyed physical properties.

Self-Sustenance: Atomic Storm can survive in space unaided, never need to eat to sustain his life and never truly need another element to be processed or broken down by their bodies. Although Atomic Storm may feel these needs and would enjoy producing such bodily functions it is unnecessary.

Speed: Flight: Speed of Sound: Atomic Storm can soar through the sky at amazing speeds. At first it may be difficult to achieve flight through his nuclear nature though he mastered it quickly. Atomic Storm has been clocked at over 600mph though theoretically he can fly much faster.

Strength: Level 10: Atomic Storm received an increased amount of physical strength and muscle mass. Atomic Storm can tap into his energy and become a large hulking entity, however such strength can be quite destructive to Atomic Storm if not used sparingly.

Transformation: Atomic Storm can transform from his "normal" human form into Atomic Storm. Atomic Storm can transform his body or body parts at will with concentration with an unknown level of restraint.

Radiation Emissions: His contstant radiation emissions make him toxic to most life forms during prolonged exposure.

Swimming: While Alvar Rötgrön can swim, as Atomic Storm entering water can cause it to instantly boil and irradiates the water around him. Not only is the dangerous for those in the water with him, it also bypasses his resistance to radiation, and it is possible for him to boil himself if he stays in the water for too long.
